@@staffordstationngauge8359 Hi mate, yeah Im buzzing atm getting to finally see some progress. Im confident that the Fleischmann R3 & R4 curves will be perfect and wont derail as I tested them after is built the first three layers. Just have to make sure ive got the gradient at 2.0% all the way round which is a pain and time consuming but worth the effort right? Ive had to mess about with a spirit level to get the angle right too so the coaches lean inwards which is now working. Just waiting on them to send my track now. Im hoping to pop over your sometime this month if thats ok mate?

You wont be able to see, but I gave got hard board for the top section but its all under the bottom of the layout out of the way until I need to fix it in place at the end. The curving is precisely what I have planed and you are spot ob my friend will look cool. As for the trackbed, I’ve learnt my lesson after the first one. Hence why the second is not done yet I will be doing as you have suggested mate. Im proper pumped and cannot wait to finish and start planning the track work. So you will know how much work that tool saved me my friend. After I used my hand to shift them bolts down on the first layer I was on the net hunting for a tool lol. I am only running 2 tracks around mine and never ever thought of how long the track will be and how much it is to buy the track needed. £540 x 4 just for the helix's track alone. Did you use track detection on your helix's by chance? Dave B

What a labour of love they are an epic build pal. Had I know how much work was involved I may not have taken them on haha. It's been a struggle I can tell you with my knackered back and the accident been a tough few months but light at the end of the tunnel and I am really looking forward to the next few years building it and running it. The silly thing is I never even thought about how much track I'd need to get from the top to the bottom on one never mind two. R3 and R4 Fleischmann track will cost me £540 x 4 ROFL. @@ngauging yeah. I recognised the voice and heard your comments about Fleischmann. I’ve had a few items I’ve had to send back myself. The latest was a BR218 with sound that simply stopped running. The sound was working but nothing happened. Happily it’s been returned repaired. Also had problems with Hobbytrain. A couple of locos’ sound simply stopped working. Both were replaced FOC. All very rare in my experience of purchasing over 100 locos - I should get out more 😂😂

Hi kite, like I mentioned below am about to order a new Harder & Steenbeck airbrush as mine has stopped working correctly and it comes from Germany so not sure when I will get one this side of Christmas so sadly not going to be able to do a video. I also suck at video editing hence why I do not do them. Hey thanks for taking the time to right you thoughts and feedback, much appreciate indeed. Oh the 70’s they were good times. Weathering track is something I will be doing once I start my layout in the near future. I will look at weathering it at some point, just will be in the future as I not finished my dinning room although plasters just finished need to decorate it then have a floor fitted and ill be good to go. I feel it will be back end of the year as I have just had my double glazing replaced so big investment which is biting away at my savings. Im busy weathering at the moment just doing some Arnold beer hoppers and sone kore tankers. Thats going to keep me busy right up April Im sure. Then I’m hoping to visit the Dortmund model show and then we will be into the start of summer. Ive just bought around 10 new locos in the past three months with a few mote wagons so will be doing some videos on them. Also just dropped a small track down to start doing that so will have to see where that leads me. Have a great weekend and thanks again for making the effort always good to get feedback and nudge folks to try something new. Well good luck with all the renovation work. That Dortmund model show should be pretty good, if I'm not mistaken you bought that track cleaning wagon there. I've got about 40 odd locos, back in the day I could only afford 2nd hand , Arnold had the advantage of being more robust than Trix and Fleischmann, plus phenomenal haulage with those metal mostly Era 3 or 4 , with some era 2 wagons because they look so good with brakeman's cabins. Big thumbs up to any Br 18s too plus the odd rod-driven electric. I'm in process of removing tarnish from a load of 45 year old set track. Not easy as most solvents don't like traction tyres ,but I'm tempted to use 800- 2000 grit sand paper, followed by the much hyped No-Ox-Id A anti-oxidation treatment. Forgot to add how good some of the recent Brawa wagons are. All the best.

@@jedi1538 Thanks again for posting my friend. Ive just ordered some Brawa sound emu’s twindexx Vario’s in DB white ICE style and another version in NAH.SH too. But they wont be available until later in the year sadly. Also having had the plastering done my whole front room is very dusty and damp. So until that dries no electric trains running it hmm horrid. As for that track cleaner I did buy it at the Dortmund show and might see if I can get a few more they really good easy to change the pads. I used to run them behind a loco. But now I use my hand and press down for better results works a treat. Well until next time have a great weekend. Nothing wrong with your English my friend and as for the builders they are coming to remove my wall on the 11/12/23 at long last. Then I will get new double glazing windows throughout my home then I can finally start the build 3 years later...LOL I do plan on doing some work on coaches in the near future, however not sure when that will be as I have nothing built up at the moment due to the building work which is full steam ahead. So stay tuned! I do not seal my work as I want it to rub off and look diluted and make sure I wear gloves to handle them when they are first done. This allows me to add if i feel the need in the future. I do advise that they are sealed once finished though. I am currently weathering two of my favourite steam locos atm so I will show them once they are completed. Cannot do them in one session so hence why I never show how i do them takes to long and would need a few videos to show them. Have a great festive season when it arrives my friend. Ich versiegele meine Arbeit nicht, da ich möchte, dass sie abfärbt und verdünnt aussieht, und stelle sicher, dass ich Handschuhe trage, um sie anzufassen, wenn sie zum ersten Mal fertig sind. Dies ermöglicht es mir, hinzuzufügen, wenn ich das Bedürfnis in der Zukunft verspüre. Ich empfehle jedoch, sie zu versiegeln, sobald sie fertig sind. Ich bin gerade dabei, zwei meiner Lieblingsdampfloks zu verwittern, also werde ich sie zeigen, sobald sie fertig sind. Helping and chatting with many over there always great to assist others. Fleischmann have a Hungarian M62 coming out later this year item number 725291 obviously the ones you own are Russian variant. However you will be able to use the sound chips in this new version here is the link to their site www.fleischmann.de/fen/products/locomotives/diesel-locomotives/725291-diesel-locomotive-m62-902-gysev.html You can see the decoder type in that link under details and there is also a tab for spare parts on the same page. Sadly it's only in German. Doctor Google will be your friend there right? Deshalb stehe ich ihnen in der Zwischenzeit jederzeit zur Verfügung. Wie Sie also erkannt haben, ist Geduld die Tugend, wie wir hier sagen. Hi Mike glad it’s inspired you my friend. I’ll be doing another in German too. While you may not understand what I say you will see another thing I do by using a watered down dark wash to highlight the hard edges to make it stand out more. The problem with that is the Camera is very heavy and would make it unsteady. I will move my whole setup downstairs once the partition is removed as I'll have ample space then too.

@@ngauging tbh I would use a mobile phone to shoot weathering stuff mate, its lighter smaller and much easier to manage and focus stuff.

@@staffordstationngauge8359 My iPhone is goosed I went to watch UB40 last weekend and got rain water in it so as I am about to go on holiday I will have to get it repaired when I get home early in July.
