Not only could Donna hit those beautiful high notes, she sustained them effortlessly and she did this until her untimely death at age 63. I love her lower register as well. Her rendition of Superstar is nothing short of spectacular.

Quien? Quien ?

I ❤ me some MC, but above E5 seems very tense and shouty Her G4-D5 is soooo pretty and is very consistent Her low notes seem often very exaggerated and often throaty below G#3/G3 Her voice seems to have an easier time moving up to the high 5th octave when she has a more neutral/higher larynx and adds nasality
@Oberatous-Udurabas
@Oberatous-Udurabas 4 ай бұрын
What I found extremely interesting not just from this video but from all her songs is that even though she whispered/used a breathy tone during the emotions era and MC era she sounds different when she uses it on the Butterfly album and I wonder why she does I think it might be because she was instead whispering but also trying to be audible
@antivandalism
@antivandalism 3 ай бұрын
Not all because not every note above E5 is mixed. Full chest is really shouty that's why it's called chest. The good thing about her is that not an ounce of timbre is lost E5 above. Something that wouldn't risk by other "artists" for their craft 🤷🏻

@@Oberatous-Udurabas Again, not all of her E5 above are mixed nor it's full chest. Her mixed literally sounds like butter. If you want, you can check her dry lead vocals here on KZbin. You can search her Through The Rain dry lead for mixed and Outside dry lead for full chest.
