Just looking at fixing my sensor, can you just wire it together and forget the switch all together? This should allow me to idle car up with cruise controls while stationary?
@ScottElliott15222 күн бұрын
@AdvenTourAus check for yourself but I understand if you disconnect the switch the CC will set because the switch is normally closed. No, you won't be able to use it to idle up. The CC can't be activated until 30kph (or it maybe 40kph) ... besides the throttle adjusts trying to keep a constant speed that's been set. If the switch is disconnected, then your engine will run away if you touch the brake or clutch while on cruise so you have to be cautious.
@AdvenTourAus22 күн бұрын
@ScottElliott152 I'll let you know, gonna do mine in next week or so, think the brake and clutch are separate switches aren't they? If it doesn't idle up while stationary with cruise controls then I'll just throw a spot weld on it n put back in

Hi Scott, thanks for your video, can you please tell me how the NPS plug comes undone?
@ScottElliott1524 ай бұрын
You have to squeeze the release tab to "unlock" it while pulling at the same time. It tends to get stuck because it's under the car and obviously gets dust/dirt in it. Give it a good squirt with water before hand and some silicone spray to hopefully free it up.
@kymf064 ай бұрын
@@ScottElliott152 Yep its fairly gummed up, also have you heard of or experienced surging and black smoke going uphill related to the NPS not working correctly?
@ScottElliott1524 ай бұрын
@@kymf06 No I've never experienced that nor have a I heard of it. The CC is just operating the throttle based on a feedback loop from the speed signal so I can't see how that black smoke problem has anything to with the CC system. It would also happen if you were manually applying throttle to go uphill. As soon as the NPS switch is triggered the CC goes off and stays off until you hit "Resume" or set it again.

hi scott, whats the benefit or reasonsing doing a pressure bleed instead of the old fashion pumping brake by depressing the pedal?
@ScottElliott1524 ай бұрын
As I state in the introduction ... some manufacturers recommend a pressure bleeder is used in cars with anti lock brakes (ABS) ... which is all cars these days. As for the reasoning I don't know so perhaps some google searching might shed some light on it. From experience I've found you can still do the old fashioned method by having an assistant pump the brake pedal, however a pressure bleeder is easier and it's a one person job.

Im trying to set my rebound dumping and the service manual says 2.5 turn from full hard and so i did, i notice that the other is higher than the other. Also when im turning my preload, the rebound is turning as well, is that normal?

@ScottElliott152 what would be the reason behind it?
@ScottElliott1525 ай бұрын
@phantomrenegade11 I'd take a guess your fork caps need the damping screw adjusters reset so they're both the same. I haven't done it for years because I've been running Ohlins 30mm R&T cartridges. I know you can download the workshop manual for 07/08 CBR600RR so that's worth referencing.
