I know the spin tool is based on your 3D cursor location and when mine is in the same spot as yours everything is messed up once I hit “spin” I’ve tried everything and can’t get it right

You fix these so fast it almost seems better to sketch a messy model then just fix it up afterward, rather than thinking too hard all the time

hey, the mirror modifier doesn't work for me it does for you. I never get mirrored vertices (topology). Nothing happens. It doesn't help that you use some sort of shortcut because in this tutorial you click on X to apply. I really want to learn this it seems super useful. Hellpppp

Hi sir, I really love this tutorial. When I do the spin operation, however, everything goes haywire. The copies fold in on eachother and no amount of tweaking in the spin menu fixes it. I use duplicates, but that just separates them out much farther. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong

hey i have a doubt! Why you didn't applied the subdivision modifier before unwraping? Woudn't it make texture strech after the texturing if you apply subdivision then?

Awesome model and excellent video overall, but I think there are a few things you could have done to reduce the polygon count and make unwrapping easier without reducing quality. For example, when adding the cylinders in the chamber, you could have added one edge on each extreme end of the cylinder and one in the center instead of ten. This would simplify the geometry without compromising the model's detail. Unwrapping a high-polygon model like that would be a nightmare. I recommend unwrapping one section of the chamber before you repeat the parts into a cylinder. This way, during UV mapping, you can snap together the remaining sides more easily. I think your videos are awesome and I hope this comment does not come across as negative.

I'm really don't understand why are you using quads for hard surfaces. I'm not an expert in 3d, it's just my hobby. I mean, if you will not animate it with some deformation - there no sense to have every polygon as quad. The second thing, if you're doing hard surfaces for game engines - they will transform from quads to triangles.

Small nitpick, but the grooves you put on the bullet don't match the thing being modeled, nor could they function as intended, they're supposed to fade out at the edges and leave those spots 'open' so they engage with the bore(like a star shape in a star barrel), as they are they are just pockets that come back to a circular perimeter that doesn't retain the needed outline when looking from the tip, if that makes sense!
