Thanks. This is a great video and you’re right. It does help to get through your notes once again before storing them into your second brain. It helps to really get out the most important stuff. Now my dilemma is this. I use a similar method of taking notes on the physical books. I prefer physical ones because i have no distractions and i move faster navigating into the book and taking notes directly on the book, really quick. But man, after i finish the book, i usually get all the stuff into my digital brain, and need to get page by page and extract the highlighted and handwritten text. This takes a lot of time and is tiresome for brain and eyes. To look at the book then at the screen. Even taking photos of each page takes time. I wish I had another alternative to get my notes from the physical books easily and faster. And then summarize them in my digital brain. Am I the only one having these problems or is there a better way to do it? (I’m that fan of digital reading entire books or big chunk of text)

You don't use a task manager? Or do you move today's tasks to the daily note as the ‘one thing’ that needs to be done?
@PaDutchRunner13 күн бұрын
Instead of dating a new card, why not use the journal? And, you can tag a journal entry. One of my main uses of the journal is to tag for certain daily items I want to accomplish - waking up at a certain hour, reading the Bible, -- and each accomplishment has a different tag. I can then look back at my tags and see how many times I accomplished those goals - works pretty well!

Hi Greg, thank you for sharing your knowledge. It has given me a completely new perspective. I always struggled with making my notes "atomic," in Obsidian but now I’ve discovered something new: I can use all the content I have in a note as a seed with the DNA- including outgoing links. Above that is the trunk, which represents the essence of everything contained within. At the top are the links, which act as branches, and these can be further categorized. Below, in Obsidian, I automatically get backlinks - they’re like the soil that connects to this note. Now, I can organize my notes in a way that feels organic, like a tree or plants. This concept was the missing piece of the puzzle for me to structure my notes. So, thank you very much for that!

Greg - Great stuff, as always. I'm curious - have you tried to ditch Todoist and do all of your task management in one place (Heptabase)? I am in the process of moving all tasks out of TickTick into HB and I only use TickTick now as my universal inbox. I check it every morning and move anything important out of there into HB. The share sheet for HB on iOS is getting better but sometimes it's just easier to dump something into TickTick. I use the Siri reminders to add stuff and automatically have them go into TickTick.

As I mentioned the other day, your video totally convinced me to start a Heptabase subscription, and I’m loving it! I’ve created my own system and workflow, and it’s been a game-changer for my productivity and thought process. Huge thanks for that! Now, after watching your intro to mymind, you’ve officially got me making the switch from Pocket to mymind. I didn’t even know mymind existed, and it’s honestly amazing! I can already see how using Heptabase and mymind together is going to supercharge my workflow even more. Quick question though! I capture a ton of internet content-KZbin videos, tweets, articles-you name it. I’ve tried Google Keep and Pocket for quick capturing, but they just didn’t cut it because of their limitations. I was looking at Readwise and Readwise Reader, and while they seemed cool, they also felt a bit pricey for what I needed, which is just fast capturing. I wasn’t 100% sold. But then, thanks to your video, I met mymind and it was love at first sight! The clean, simple, and smooth UX is everything I was looking for, plus it has extra features I didn’t even know I needed but now can’t live without! That being said, I remember seeing the Readwise icon in one of your previous videos, so I’m curious-are you still using it? If so, what’s the reason? Is there something mymind doesn’t cover in your workflow? Or if you’ve moved on, is it because mymind now does everything you used Readwise for?
