Pretty much every other comment said it, but it's because of Android 16. 17 and 18 were just teenagers (implied to be later teens, but still) when they were snatched and turned into Cyborgs (remember, they're actually humans with robotic parts, 16 is NOT a Cyborg and is actually just a full robot). Teenagers are rebellious and hate structure. Amplified with someone putting a Neuralink-type deal in them that makes them have to kill people to get any jollies, and you have a *real* bad time. In the timeline we all know though? They had Android 16. He was a moderating voice for them. Despite all three being made to kill Goku (IIRC 17 and 18 did not actually know they were humans until after Cell died), the literal robot who was made for one purpose had almost no interest in doing so. He was more into... birds... and scenery. Also if I remember right (been a bit since I read the manga), I think the good/right timeline (the one we all know and love) has all of Gero's plans happen too early. It's entirely possible he didn't really instill much bloodlust in the Androids yet. Which might be possible. We see them act rowdy and violent but they're absolutely *not* the bloodthirsty monsters from the future.

They should’ve had Gohan put on his dad‘s gear in fight future trunks during the Goku black Ark, and super that would’ve just been everything for future trunks not gonna lie especially if he still couldn’t beat Gohan.

I always thought Cell just has the ability to move his core at will like the anime parasite. Which is why he brought so much focus to saying that his core was in his head, kind of like Batman with the yellow symbol actually being the hardest part of the suit. Which is another reason why they won’t bring back Cell because he was so calculative.

My thought is that in the og timeline Gero wasn't able to get to the shutdown remote when he first activated them. Thus they would be able to get out and unleash all the anger of being kidnapped, transformed, plus all the anger they would have at the world as orphans, with ungodly power leading to the androids of Trunks' timeline. Since the main timeline Gero was able to turn them off again he would probably try to turn down their anger but also improve the tech in them which made them stronger than the ones in Trunks' timeline. Given that there is limited info on Trunks' androids and timeline I think this makes he best sense.

Also Broly was stabbed in the chest and Goku punched him in the stomach. Those are two VERY CLEARLY DIFFERENT areas

My hot take is frankly that Dragon Ball should have ended after the Frieza Arc. I LOVE DB overall and plenty of the material that has come since. But I think the storytelling, stakes and tension peaked with the Frieza Arc. Or Freeza? Sorry. DB and DBZ up to that point feels like it is always escalating. It culminated with a full blown space adventure and Goku defeating the evil emperor of the entire universe and becoming the legendary Super Saiyan. It just doesn't feel like you can go much bigger and more spectacular than a planet-destroying battle like that. And after? We get cheap tricks like time travel, and a doomed future where everyone is killed by Androids. We get Freeza returning just to be punked by a new character. We get the characters collectively deciding to be dumb and just prepare for a doomsday enemy instead of trying to prevent a doomsday future. They never had that level of "taking things so lightly" mentality before this. Just haphazardly gambling on the fate of the world for fun...it all just feels so wrong. The Freeza arc felt epic, and had an epic conclusion. The Androids-Cell and Buu arcs just feel like they are throwing things at the wall. Random ideas. Just doing stuff. Not that the franchise should have ended entirely after the Freeza arc...just that it should have been selectively continued with feature films after that point.

The difference: Goku died of the virus in their timeline. Android 16 wasn't dispatched, and their curiosity in seeing what 16 could do was non-existent.

In theory, you would even wonder if all their combined power would destroy the egg because remember Gohan couldn’t even destroy it when he tried. I doubt that blast would’ve done anything.

I think you forget that time in hell is dilated. When goku fell into hell and escaped, he was only gone for a second... Freeza was dead for so long that to him, he was in hell for centuries. He prolly just forgot
