True. Specially considering that he never suffers "debilitating" injuries from ANY attack (only pain). . The "Hit Point" bar acts the same way a passive Ki Barrier does (protecting both clothes & skin). . Perhaps he always had a variant of "Divine Ki" that could not be sensed by anyone (not even him), that protected him from any lasting/mortal damage from non-mundane sources [since a bullet did put his life at risk]. -> My headcanon is that his dead wife Miguel (Videl´s mom) was an actual reincarnation of the biblical Angel [in the Dragon Ball mythos, beings with a literal "non-quantifiable" strength/power], who managed to "shield" him from the other world.

Based on how quickly Videl was able to master flying with ki, I suspect Mr Satan actually has an affinity for ki and a large amount of it for someone who has never trained it, which is probably the real reason he did not get splattered by Cell or Buu. He's not a full on gag manga character, or else he'd body Vegeta like Arale did.

I just looked up the strongest punch ever registered and it was Francis Ngannou with 129 units, I couldnt find out what those units are or how to convert them into lbs or kgs but assuming Mr. Satan's machine uses the same type of measurement 137 is very impressive

@@xander.357 Ranfan was able to injure Nam with a kick, a two handed blow to the head and punch to the body. Nam is stronger than pre-21st TB Goku, who is much stronger than Mr. Satan. As for Bacterian, he was able to injure Kuririn with a kick, and Mr. Satan has nothing that suggests he'd be able to resist his bad smell.

It's always baffled me as to why Mr Satan didn't learn Ki. He obviously knew the existence of ki control when his master was killed by Tao, so when ever faced an opponent that could use it, he would always cower and beg them not to kill him. But to his fortune Tao and other fighter alike had no interest in the world tournament until Cell showed up.

Pretty sure its because he became a defeatest after his teacher was killed and vowed never to fight anyone stronger than himself rather than to get better. He has a strong body but a weak mental constitution, which is necessary for controlling ki.

I think if he would have entered a tournement in dragonball, he probably would have lost to krillin, but would have been strong enough to make krillin break a sweat. He's probably about as strong as a normal human can get without ki, or cybernetic implants, or other such things. I do wonder if he where to learn how to use ki though. If he spent a few weeks in the time chamber with gohan, I wonder how strong he could get.

He's not even remotely as strong as you can get without Ki. We see numerous fighters, including pre-turtle Krillin, do things like fell trees or shatter solid stone with their bare hands. Goku in the 2nd or 3rd episode crushes a boulder with a bear hug and mopped the floor with an entire wolf pack the previous night before knocking a plane out of the sky with a kick. Any of them would flatten Hercule, and be flattened in turn by people like 21st WMAT Krillin or Nam.

@@matthewbreytenbach4483 I'm not sure that goku and krillin are totally without ki before DragonBall starts. They both did some training prior to being introduced, goku trained with gohan and krillin trained with monks. I'm pretty sure krillin says he shaves his head to help with his ki.

Even if you want to say that they already know a bit of Ki control, their level of ability is the norm for elite martial artists of the time. And none of them would last a minute against anyone on Nam or 21st Krillin's level.

I thought about this the other day and id say he'd stay relevant ip until the first world tournament and finishing below Kid Goku, Jackie Chun, Krillin, and Yamcha. Past that he's completely outclassed and couldn't survive Muscle tower or Tao.

Note: Mr. Satan has had actual combat experience with Android 18, Perfect Cell, Fat Buu, and Kid Buu. All of those characters would probably die in those fights, ESPECIALLY Yamcha, who died to a Saibaman. At the very least, Mr Satan's physical reflexes are at the highest level for a human, reducing lethal damage to less than lethal. Evidence: He survived Perfect Cell, which he had no prior relationship with, unlike Kid Buu.

@@douglascramer1501 He was almost killed by a bullet and would've been had Buu not healed him, An untrained Kid Goku mostly tanked being shot in head from point blank range. I'm with Mike in that all those battles were played off as comedy and shouldn't taken seriously as feats.

No Sporky. Mr. Satan isn't beating Kid Goku, who was barely hurt when being shot in the face then picked up and threw a car. He also isn't beating Yamcha, who beat the stuffing out of Goku and sent him flying through several menhirs. Or Chichi who decapitated a large therapod dinosaur. Then blew it up with a laser. He might be able to beat up the Pilaf gang, if they don't just shoot him. Nor is he beating guys like Nam and Giran who gave that same Goku who did all that a rough time. I am not even convinced he could beat the gimmick characters like Bacterian and Ranfan, but given that they lost almost immediately after their foes found ways around their gimmicks I could see that argument. I could see him beating Pamput from the 22nd Tenkaichi Budokai, though honestly they are similar characters.

Pre-Cell saga, Mark "Hercule" Satan actually fought Spopovitch, yes, the same man that stomped Videl so brutally after Babidi got his mitts on him, on equal footing and won. So, he at least has some skills and knowledge. However, where he really excels is at sheer heart and brass balls. He stood up to Kid Buu to try and reach Fat Buu because FB is his friend and he knew FB could help. A situation where anyone else would have thrown in the towel, and there he was, still trying his hardest.

In a real world consideration, though + He has World's Strongest Man competition tier strength + Gymnast level agility + Can run short distances at Faster Than Eye speeds + Is an exceptionally competent martial artist + Is AMAZING at P.R. In something resembling the "Real World" he would absolutely live up to his own hype.

Hey! I've been watching your videos for a while and i trust your power scalings (i agree with most of them, not the 100% but I think you analyse more deeply than other powerscalers). I wonder what you think about goku and vegeta's power level in their base forms after namek. Do they increase massively? Do they stay moreorless the same? Do they increase slowly? I'd like to know your opinion, it could be a great topic for a video (either now or whenever, even if you post that video in 3 years i'll watch it either way). I mean yeah I agree with your assessment. He’s a gag character, though he’s probably got insane luck and charisma stats if he was an RPG character, lol. However I will say he’s a valid fighter in at least the first Budokai game, since you don’t have to worry about ki management with him. He’s completely physical and is good for keeping your opponent from powering up, which if you let happen can get you wrecked. The androids are better for this though, as you can equip them with an infinite energy generation capsule that gives them access to ki moves with a full ki bar for the entire match, and it’s downside of preventing transformations doesn’t apply to them.

I remember that in the french translation of the manga (and maybe the anime, I'm not sure) he was introduced as a wrestling champion, but then in the buu saga he's defending his tenkaichi budokai champion title, kind of a continuity error there

I think having Kid Buu play around with Satan is a huge mistake. Cell I could see holding back, probably because he didn't think it would take that much to kill him. But the entire point of Kid Buu being "the most dangerous Buu" hinges on him being unpredictable and having no chill. The first thing he does is blow up the earth. The first thing he does is attack. The first thing he does is go for the kill. Which is also why people think it is so impressive when it really isn't. PS: The proper term is "head benis".

If Mr Satan wasn't afraid of super-techniques, he could easily learn everything Krillin knows (Like the kamehameha wave, and flight). He could also learn afterimage and shapeshifting. Any human can learn all of those.

Mr Satan is like a member of a power group back in th '80s and '90s that had feats of ripping a giant telephone book or lifting cars. The thing is if you know a techinic or it weights nothing. Even pulling a bus or three can be easy if it is just a plasitc cover, a plastic frame and some wheels. Same type of thing for 14+1 tiles, make 14 weak and 1 normal. His strength is in that he lives while getting hit then breaking rocks, beending steel beams (tournment, most likely), and etc... Goku in Super gets hurt by a bullet. It is either not a great concept for characters power or DB characters are weaker than 99% of shonen jump characters. You do not get to have both.

When the series started having characters with power levels in the millions, it also stopped showing lower power humans having insane feats of strength. I don't think it's really fair to compare the power scaling from early Dragon Ball to later. So while he's obviously not going to be jumping hundreds of feet in the air...I'd say that Satan was still probably at about Nam's level.

There's no reason to believe Mr. Satan is at Nam's level. Nam was able to trade blows with Goku during the 21st Tenkaichi Budokai, who was much stronger than the Goku who could lift a 1 ton car and crush solid rocks as big as him.

He does a great job considering the fact that he is unaware of what ki is and how to use it. With actual training by an actual master, like Roshi, he would become vastly more powerful. Powerful enough to be relevant in the 21th budokai tournament.

I think Mr. Satan's power level could possibly crack the triple digits. If a farmer with a shotgun is level 5, it would be pretty impressive for Mr. Satan to even be 100. It's probably more realistic that he'd be level 50 or less. I think Goku was a kid was 10? It's possible that a full-grown man who's trained his whole life was a whole lot stronger than that.

I think He is durable, and they use that as a gag... it's like Vegeta being weaker than Goku took a masive beating from Buu. some characters have endurance, some have strength, some have both. and the thing with Mr. Satan is that he doesn't use ki and that is why he would lose to many of those characters. Because most of those characters have at least a rudimentary understanding of how ki works, not enough to do ki blast or fly, but enough to boost a bit their stats.

I say the likes of King Chappa from the World Tournament would beat him. If I remember correctly, he won a tournament without any of his opponents managing to land a single hit on him. We know good and well he wouldn't standup to ANY of King Piccolo's children during that arc. During the 21st World Tournament, he could possibly make it into the Top 8. Let's say he bested Ran-fan or something. However, he isn't competing with post-Roshi training Goku or Krillin. Not even sure he could best the Ox-King in his initial appearance at Fire Mountain because Kid Goku couldn't even make his budge. Cell Saga Mr. Satan was no doubt Mark at his peak because dude was slacking as much as Gohan during the time jump to the Buu Saga. He was just lucky non of the Z-Team or any other human of notable strength entered the tournament he won.

So while it's not mentioned specifically I don't see how they aren't as after Goku and Krillin's first fights they realize they have to suppress their strength because they could actually knock guys through walls, what Yamcha does with his Wolf Fang Fist I would imagine being along a burst in ki energy, even other attacks that Roshi does in the tournament.

My thoughts on Satan's strength has always been: During the first Tenkaichi Budokai of Dragon Ball, he would have been a strong contestant. He could have given Nam or King Chappa a good fight - he's probably on par with them, but Muten Roshi would have wiped the floor with him. He would have put up a solid fight against Krillin, Yamcha, and Goku but ultimately lose against any one of them.

Mr Satan could be interesting to see against Colonel Silver, General White, Panput and... maybe Murasaki and Staff Officer Black. General Blue is where he stops having any chances. That guy jumped from a plane and landed on foot and also resisted an electric eel and also has psychic powers. Satan can still beat the shit out of Pilaf Gang if they don't happen to be in some high tech fighting costume.

it would be great if you made a video about why in Future Trunks Timeline goku's Death was Not Prevented by Shenron why no one made a wish for Goku To be cured of his Sicnes for him to be healthy? Because Goku wouldn't have died of a heart virus that way.

@9:20 if we're talking pounds per square inch, real MMA fighters in the real world often punch hard enough to generate up to and over 600 PSI, if you look up KZbin videos you will see them do this on those punching machines. Check out Eddie Halls channel, he is a strong man champion, and he has featured MMA fighters and himself testing their strength on these punching machines.

Well now I feel stupid for thinking Satan could take on Master Roshi when he first appeared, so long as he didn't use any ki attacks. I didn't realize how much I needed this video. (I'm gonna go back to one of your half year old polls and edit my post on it that said how I actually thought Satan could beat Kid Goku at the start of Dragon Ball...... I do still believe his punches are stronger than the average bullet though.)

Yajirobe doesn’t outwardly use Ki in the obvious way that the other prominent fighters do, but he’s trained alongside them with Kami and was able to perform numerous feats a human couldn’t without the use of Ki.

Yajirobe beat Cymbol though and might put up a good fight against Tamborine. I DO remember Yajirobe being kinda strong in OG dragonball.

When he was fighting goku, he shock mountains by stomping the ground. He was on par with tien and goku when he was first introduced.

Its funny how in the original Dragon Ball Manga they call him Mr. Satan even in the Viz translation but in the Dragon Ball Super Manga in the first chapter they decide to call him Hercule. I wonder why they decided to change it in the Viz translation.
