My theory is that all the movies take place in alternate timelines where big fights happened differently. Two examples: Dead Zone happened after Piccolo killed Raditz with his first Special Beam Cannon, so Goku didn’t die, Gohan’s power was still unknown, and Piccolo/Goku stayed enemies. Cooler’s Revenge happened after Goku successfully killed Frieza with the Spirit Bomb, so he didn’t learn to turn Super Saiyan yet.

Always believed this, These are mine going through: Dead Zone, takes place if Raditz arrived slightly later. That's it. World's strongest, Same timeline but Piccolo did kill Goku with SBC buuuuut Goku was wished back faster. Yeah. Which leads into... Z Fighters have Goku and are training thus Tree of Might happens in this time. Saiyans arrive and as Goku is there they get beat but not killed so no need for Namek outside of Piccolo being curious so there is no immediate travel to it. Lord Slug happens. They finally do go to Namek and the Freeza Saga happens but is killed by the Spirit Bomb which is why Goku heavily relies on it and uses it on Cooler. Continue on from Cooler is self explained. Vegeta and Goku train together to achieve super saiyan etc. Future Trunks shows up and shit just gets even weirder with the Androids. Like in DBZA The Three just decide to y'know not be total dicks after 16 kills Imperfect Cell and it's deemed "Enough of a Goku" to reach his protocols. Broly happens because 16 killed one Cell but as the Androids were pretty easy to mess up? They kinda...forgot about the other one. Cell Games still happen and takes place between this. Bojack because Perfect Cell (Weaker) merced Goku. Also Trunks regularly comes back in this timeline because he's got a connection to that Universe. Broly Second Coming? Self explanatory. It's when Goten and Trunks are looking for the Dragon Ball's in the Buu Saga. Janemba, also, When both Vegeta and Goku are dead in Buu Saga. Buu's Fury nailed this placement. Bio Broly happens at the same time as Janemba, like, literally within the same week. Wrath of the Dragon, Gohan beat Buu in this time line and it just fits. "But den why-" because it's Dragon Ball. Nothing makes sense. Nothing. Icarus is a thing and then he's not. Using real world logic on a comedy fighting anime is as dumb as trying to teach a Frog JavaScript, sure it's fun but it's ultimately fucking pointless. Which brings me to my ultimate retarded theories... 1. The Movie Timeline 2. The GT timeline 3. The Super Timeline 4. The Xeno timeline (also known as future Trunks timeline) 5. Heroes timeline Are the rings in the box in the Goku Black arc. SS4 is an Oozaru SS Transformation as SS blue is God Ki Super Saiyan. Power Levels, as in scouters, measure a particular sort of Ki and they mean nothing because it was a bunch of scientists estimating spiritual energy. Granola could really easily be what Bulma could be if she wanted to be using tech etc. The original Cell, as in the one they aborted, would have been way stronger than the Cell we got. Gohan is always holding back. People talk about Goku having a 'Kakarot' side, fuck that, Gohan has demon in him somehow. Each Universe represents a basic "Could Goku beat X" or are a canonized version of a game or movie character. Jiren is Goku, Ribrianne is Sailor Moon/Madoka, etc. "muh tingly neck" is someone trying to explain something unexplainable. It's not just "mmm tingle dat neck", It's him trying to explain how it feels to have the ki being released. Chaotzu is haunting Tienshinhan. There is more than one Ginyu Force. The 5 are just the main 5 that like Zarbon and Dodoria? Are just more compatible. Android 13 is based on a younger Gero. Tienshinhan is already the new Crane Master, Yamcha will be the next turtle hermit. Uub is Nams son. Piccolo is black. Goku Jr and Vegeta Jr don't know what the fuck a Super Saiyan is because I don't know what the fuck my great great grandfather's fighting style was. Master Carrot keeps dying. On the moon. Dragonball Multiverse, great fan comic, got a lot right about the Androids needing maintenance, Cell eventually becoming bored if he killed everyone, Buu going Zen etc. I could go deep but go read it, it's amazing. Humans don't get a transformation but Tienshinhan isn't human. Android 19 was based on Chaotzu, Master Shen, Tien and Yajirobe who in Dragonball were all fairly powerful at the time of creation. Xicor is motherfucking coming but it's not going to be in the way we think. If we look at Xicor and remove Goku cheating, a Saiyan who is half God...oh wait. We DID get that. ZAMASU IS CANON XICOR. I could go on.

Before discovering those things I always just assumed the movies were just "What Ifs" though some of the earlier ones could be wonky with Son Gohan. What is Son Goku's brother was named Turles. What if Namek came to earth (Lord Slug) What if Freeza had a Brother who was curious how he died. What if there were even more "androids" Bojack is an alternate Cell story right down to a tournament and Son Gohan going SSJ2 Janimba would be a story for after Cell but in place of Buu

Not sure if it's mentioned in the video, but IIRC, King Kai only gets involved in mortal conflicts when it affects North Galaxy as a whole (or at least could). The future androids were exclusively Earth based, so he didn't get involved.

I always thought the repeated inclusion of Icarus is that Toei wanted to give the movies their own vague timeline where similar events too DBZ happened, but are superseded by whatever is needed to make the movies possible. Even tree of might, it could've just been that Turles and his guys were the "Saiyans" that the dragon team was expecting and they had plenty of time to revive Goku.

I think the 2 theory’s I believe to be true is there being at least 4 timelines in the cell saga and the OG trunks that gave goku medicine is not the same one that arrived later to fight the Androids. And That a Saiyan Parents power level affects how powerful the child will be. Reason why trunks and Goten could achieve SS1, because Goku already achieved it and Vegeta was already on that line of power of achieving it. Then Pan being able to flying around the earth’s atmosphere because Gohan had achieved a form beyond SS2. I know they are all hybrids but the parents power lvl definitely factors into it.

Theory: Freeza is the only villain evil enough to have a sort of immortality, even without using a wish for it. When normal people die they get reincarnated as someone new with their memories purged. Heroes have the option to keep their body and live in the afterlife instead. Villains are purified of their evil in hell and then cycled in with the normal people to be reincarnated without their former memories. Out of all canon villains, Freeza is the only one stubbornly evil enough to not have to worry about reincarnation. He's so completely irredeemable that no matter how long he spends in hell he cannot be purified and as such lives out a sort of immortality adjacent to what the heroes get, just much less pleasant, which in turn means that no matter how much time passes his soul is still a viable candidate to be brought back to life by the dragon balls. Even Kid Buu wasn't so evil as to be able to avoid purification and was reborn as Uub, but Freeza who was dead for far longer remained in hell and was still able to be wished back to life.

TFS made the joke explanation that Panchi was actually a clone. and that Dr. Briefs had another clone in the process of development. i don't mind that theory. personally, uh, Dr. Briefs is a scientist. so maybe he uses some kind of science related technology (perhaps gene therapy or something like that) to maintain her eternal youth. i mean, we are currently trying to reverse aging in real life. and i think we're pretty close at achieving this "dream". so, it's not unreasonable. as well, there are other characters who are functionally immortal. namely, Muten Roshi. so, her eternal youth isn't unprecedented either.

Dr. Slump contains an explicit joke of Toriyama making fun of his own ignorance. During space travel Arale opens a window to let Gatchan out. And Senbei says something along the lines of: Close the window! Thankfully the ignorance of the author saved us this time. And since Dragonball takes plays in the same universe all of those exceptions to real life physics are potentially canon. Aka: the real time communication only worked because the author did not think about.

My only issue with the King Cold sneaking out the Namekin Dragon Balls to become immortal himself is no one knows where it is. It was kept super tight lips, very few people are in the know, and they picked a really out of the way planet.

Here's one theory I've always had: Captain Ginyu's original body looks just like his body on Namek. It's said many times that Captain Ginyu stole the body that he's seen with on Namek, and we see from the flashbacks in DBS: Broly, that Ginyu has used that body for a long time. Every time we see Ginyu represented out of his body (i.e. his spirit in other world) he's shown in a body that has purple skin and horns, and while this is most likely because he's most recognizable in this form, it isn't a stretch to say that Ginyu may have fought a member of his own race, and swapped bodies with him. Because Ginyu was originally the same race as that body, he was already familiar with wielding it, and was able to wield the body's full potential as opposed to when he swapped with Goku later on Namek

Regarding Zeno, I do like the idea that he might be the son of a previous Omni King. One big evidence is the kings calendar that was mentioned by the Grand priest when the TOP was announced. It implies that Zeno’s reign had been about 8.6 million years long. The problem is that there are many characters and events that take place far before 8.6 million years. So I believe that Zeno might be a part of an imperial family that ruled the universe and he is just simply the current one ruling the multiverse. Similar to the Japanese imperial family and how there are many eras based on who the Emperor was. (Eg Japan is currently on year 5 of the Reiwa era as the current Emperor has ruled for 5 years) In fact Zeno and the Grand priest gave me lots of vibes regarding the relationship the Japanese emperor has with powerful Japanese figures throughout history. The emperor may be at the top, but he is more so a figurehead while other high ranking officials make the policy decisions and he gives them his blessing. Funny enough I have a Dragon ball fan story where the current Zeno we see is not the original ruler and he is just the current ruler of a long line of Emperors who ruled the Dragon Ball multiverse. The King Cold theory sounds like a neat sounding theory, but I think it would have been implied that King Cold was still alive during the Android’s rampage.

🙋‍♂️I have a question not really a theory but, in the Super future trunks goku black saga; Zamasu has his fight with goku in present day (let’s call this timeline A) and he decides he needs gokus power so, in the not too distant future of timeline A he gathers the super dballs and wishes to swap bodies. Now with this divergence let’s call this timeline C) So far so good, as goku black he kills chi chi, goten and goku “now in zamasus body”. He then travels to futures trunks timeline using the time ring “the same timeline in which all the android shit happens, let’s call this timeline B” he goes to his alternate self in this timeline and together they wish for the alternate future (B) zamasu to have immortality. They then go around all the universes within timeline B and kill all the supreme Kai thus killing all their gods of destruction. Okay so now the stage is set for everything we see in the manga/anime. But what about the original alternate timeline (C) that zamasu swapped bodies with goku within. Everyone else not mentioned being killed by black ie gohan/vegeta/ piccolo/ trunks/bulma/ beerus/ supreme Kai of the 7th etc, just saw this happen and said ahh shit we lost him he traveled to another timeline?

23:12 an important thing to mention here… Majin Buu was around 5 million years before age, and Moro was around 10 million years before age…. Beerus sealed Elder Kai in the sword around like 75 million years before age. Now he’s, some sources say Buu was created in Time Immemorial, or quite literally, a long time before time even existed 💀💀 so yes, it is a decent theory, but we do have actual statements from canonical material that states beerus sealed the old Kai away because of an argument over “some trifling thing”.

I think one of the rules about wishes were that you couldn't get rid of death by natural causes ie someone dying of old age or disease. The immortality wish doesn't TECHNICALLY circumvent that as it's not reviving a person who died to old age

I would of loved to see Cooler and King Cold come to earth in search of Goku to avenge Frieza death (yes he'd stay dead) And the events in the cooler movie would play out similarly to both trunks saga and coolers revenge except with trunks and maybe have Goku show up after king cold is dead and cooler is kicking trunks ass in his new form then, when all hope is lost that's when Goku could show up using Instant Transmission and show the audience his progress since namek and kick coolers ass

Goku could beat Cell, all he had to do was stack kaioken x2 to achieve Ssj2 levels of power, x3 would’ve guaranteed him to be stronger than Ssj2 Gohan. Stacking kaioken on Mastered Ssj is possible because it’s a mastered Ssj form. There are no draw backs or strains on the body and mind, he even slept while in Ssj, stacking kaioken x2 at a minimum should’ve been easy for Goku.

Nah, Goku seems to think that KioKen is not stackable with normal SSJ. Especially if we take Super into account, then we know it's not really possible. The Super Kaioken in the filler episodes are either filler, or you could argue that Goku being dead allowed for much more stressful things on his body, which Goku also says in the Buu arc with SSJ3.

I have a far out theory that the grand minister pulled a kami and split his naive or childish side from him so he could be the grand minister and zeno is the physical manifestation of his naivete. I think all of the DBZ Movies are what-if scenarios where one major thing is different. For example, I think Fusion Reborn is Ultimate Gohan killing Super Buu. It's implied he's Ultimate and Goten and Trunks know fusion, fits perfectly. Vegeta was sadly tossed into Hell, because Yemma didn't need him anymore. As for the Cooler Movie, we can say Goku killed Frieza immediately and for some reason never picked up turning SSJ again. Lord Slug, it would make sense if Goku saved Piccolo from dying so they didn't need to goto Namek. No idea how Frieza would factor in there.

I think the Red Ribbon army is responsible for everything after Namek. There would be no androids without them which means no Cell and no future Trunks. Goku still dies from the heart virus still and when that happens Babidi can’t gather enough energy to revive Buu

There is no reason to think that Cold was stronger than 2nd form Freeza or was able to transform. In the manga there was no line about Cold having a larger Ki than Freeza Freeza states that HE invented the transformations that surpress his power to a manageable level. So there is no reason to think that Cold who abdicated to his son due to his superior strength was hiding some big power. Honestly Cold doesn't have to be stronger than Ginyu for everything we see to fit. Personally I think that Cold was still weaker than 1st form Freeza. Vegeta had met Cold and didn't know Freeza could transform.

I dont know if this has been discussed before but from a time ago I've been thinking that Goku, Vegeta and the rest aren't ''Super Saiyans''; when the concept of the ''Super Saiyan'' is introduced to the spectator in the story only Frieza and Vegeta really took the possible existence of the ''Super Saiyan'' as a reality, but not because they knew that the super Saiyan was actually a thing but rather because they heard tales of a state in which a member of the Saiyan race could reach a higher level of power with a transformation. Just take into account when Vegeta got the first Zenkai and he started showing off his new power level while screaming he was now a Super Saiyan; even Freezer was impressed with his change and thought it was real for a moment. Then, they tell Goku about the super Saiyan and he becomes Ssj1 after Freezer kills Krillin. Ofc the logical way to put things into place was that the legend Freezer asd Vegeta were talking about was whatever Goku just achieved; this giving the new thing the name. Anyways, we all know time passed and right now even a Saiyan in a vegetative state could go Ssj 1 at any given point, accesible, and an easy goal whatsoever. Instead, there's actually a couple possible candidate forms, those being of course the state ONLY Broly can reach, which is been shown that only a Single Saiyan at a time that can reach PER UNIVERSE at once (we haven't been shown otherwise) or whatever Yamoshi reached back in the day.

It's late. But my big theory would be that 19 and 20 happened in Future Trunks' timeline. It's just without his initial warning the Z fighters had to react to 19 and 20's rampage. So Vegeta finds out about it via Bulma, Piccolo senses it via Kami, the two take down 19, chase 20 to his lab, and the three get killed by 17 and 18. Without them Tien, Chiaotzu, Yamcha, Krillin, and Gohan, who get there late, just never hear about 19 and 20 and blame the South City massacres on 17 and 18, which is all Trunks learns about.

I like to think dragon ball fans have a different canon. I like to squeeze in certain Z movies into my canon, and hell I still theories ways GT could still fit in my own timeline. And yeah I love super as well. And I understand the things that make it hard to include. And I’ll always acknowledge it, but in my head. Cooler came to earth in the three year timeskip after his father and brother were murdered on earth. Super is some odd mix of things in the manga and anime, and at the end of the time line Goku rides off with Shenron.

My personal fan theory is that GT CAN still be cannon. Pan Chan was already born in Super. Bulla (Bra) was born during Super. They are both about the same age in GT. Son Goten and Trunks are still small in Super but tall in GT. The heroes have been warned about the use of time travel. But they have also done so much for their universe and well as the others... Just in the TOP, nevermind other implied help between then and what I am about to discribe.... Picture something bad happening. Like Bulma being killed (add your own loop hole that takes away the Dragon Ball wish). Vegeta getting pissed and everyone decided to use time travel to correct things. They get caught. Normally that would be instant deletion... But they have done so much good. Instead their punishment is having their minds erased. All the other Gods and Angels and TOP contestants are warned to never talk to them ever again or they WILL be erased. So no more knowledge of Destroyers and Angels, no more Super Saiyan Gods or SSJ God SSJs (blue), no more Golden Freeza, no more multiverse. What does that mean... Things continue as is... Leading to the events of GT, SSJ4 being the next step and all of that.

Wrong. Future Trunks tell Goku about that one fight where he shouldn't have spared enemy is his fight with Red Ribbon. He never said anything about sparing Cold even though Trunks eventually defeats cold. Moreover Trunks says if he knew about Goku IT then he wouldn't have intervened by showing up. Had Cold be spared in original timeline, Future Bulma would tell Trunks to kill Cold irrespective of Goku IT

The Trunks that gets killed by Cell in the future had already killed the Androids. So it definitely wasn't the Trunks that gave Goku the heart medicine, because he hadn't killed them yet.

I don't think King Yemma would make an exception JUST for earth though. Don't forget, the Androids are still human, so they can't breathe in space, and not smart enough to make their own spaceships or whatever, nor would they even try to learn how to do so. They would be permanently confined to earth until they lived out their normal human lifespans. If Yemma made no exceptions for FRIEZA despite having fighters who could easily trounce him (such as Pikkon) then I highly doubt he'd do so for just one planet being life-wiped. Buu was an exception because he was a being who would live forever, could survive in any environment, and would continue to go on destroying every planet he came across.

The tail being the "key to mastering saiyan forms" is just an outdated statement for the fans that want to see SSJ4. Broly's ikari, a variant of Oozaru, has all the benefits and less drawbacks of the OG Great Ape. (10x boost, no need for the moon, no size increase). The tail just seems like a weakness now.

Zeno acts like a child for the same reason Goten was invented, the same reason Gohan is who went to Namek with Krillin, and the same reason Goku was turned into a kid again kn GT. Dragon Ball, at it's core is for children to enjoy and become inspired by. Every single character in Dragon Ball owes their existence to Toriyama and his audience, hence Zeno, the manifestation of all our child-like wonder.
