To find out the speed, you can take certain frames of specific rocks in the chasm and then find the distance between them and then count the frames between those two rocks...

you could (maybe) approximate the speed by overlaying the most successful attempt with the another attempt and and see how far in frame you travel by comparison?

Had been trying to employ the portapot for this (from another YT video), but while it makes a decent launch when successful, it's way too finicky (glue breaks often, not sure if it's the orientation or something else). The battery is amazing, and easy! Launched to the top limit of the skybox (not from elevation 0, granted)

personally i much prefer measuring depletion in wells per minute. the numbers are just much easier to conceive and hold in my head. for instance, the fan out of water vs in water in wl/s is 0.156 vs 0.039. and while i can kinda of picture that to some extent, i have a much easier time picturing the difference in wl/m of 9.36 and 2.3.

We could probably get your initial vertical velocity, but as we don't have the x and y, that is all we could get. Unfortunately considering the stupid amount of horizontal Deceleration, your record speed is forever lost to the fields of estimation.

I also discovered something on accident, I believe this also works with the wooden wheels that you can find everywhere in the map, I haven’t tested it yet but I do remember a time in which I did the exact same thing but instead of using the electric generator, I used a wooden wheel, at the time I laugh that off, but now that I think back to it, it can actually be used to do the same thing but much easier. Are recall launches affected by link being in glide position? Since that slows him down drastically when falling, in theory it would affect upwards motion, though this is Zelda physics so..

for shits and giggles i ran the numbers in the Mach 1.6 launch to see what kind of g-force we are dealing with and it came out to about 30000 g's of acceleration and for reference if you drove a car into a brick wall at 60 MPH that's around 100 g's so its a lot of force and it would definitely unalive any mortal living thing

i heard somewhere that the units in the code aren't meters, but are actually links, so x would be the width of link on the x axis, y would be the width of link on the y axis, and z would be the height of link on the z axis, if this is true, none of these measurements are in meters, and even more important, different measurements are all being grouped together as if they are worth the same distance

The top recorded speed (per your experiments) was = Mach 1.59. But we know for a fact that the top speed is > Mach 1.59 due to the fact that to reach the hight limit we must have a greater initial speed than the previously recorded attempt (which was = 1.59). So a more accurate way to show the data would be Top speed (recorded) = Mach 1.59 Top speed (true) > Mach 1.59 All that being said.
