Such an amazing build! Thoroughly enjoyed watching all three parts! Would it not be an option to 3D print an impeller? Subscription earned. Keep up the great work!

A key reason for the 2 fence design is to have your stock supported with both cuts. I will use a 1/8” backboard sometimes which reduces tearout and having support is key in getting perfect cuts. There are other reasons for the 2 fence design but support is a main one.

Building this seems like such a long stretch for me, but goddamn I want it. About what price range are ya'll finding in materials/building roughly? Thank you!

Great project. Extremely handy with great form and function. There’s got to be a way to tighten up the flexing issue with some light tubing. Look at 4130 chromoly tube aircraft fuselage construction… like a Piper Cub.

Very cool, thanks for the vid. I am totally with you, very similar philosophy. I get so much freaking cardboard, card stock, paper, etc and rather use it for something else than toss it. This sort of thing also allows us to make storage solutions that are 100% tailored to our workspaces, which is something I find very important.

I was looking for a method to cut exact width dado’s. I made myself a jig for a 18 mm bit, but for every oyher bit i should needed another jig. This is a really good tip. Thanks.

You are so incredibly thoughtful. Watching this video was a joy. I've surveyed many similar DIY drawer cabinets but yours blow them away AND come with plans for the cost of one lunch - what a gift. Thank you so much. My favorite part are the handles which I was waiting for you to mention, but they allow you to open and close by applying force axially to the slide *chefs kiss* that sold me.

I'm used to designing all my own stuff, but sometimes it's nice to give my brain a break and use plans where all the hard design work is already done. Jer's Gen 2 belt grinder show excellent engineering decisions, and the excellent instructions were very clear and well-written. I've since bought his plans for both these attachments here and just finished welding together the small wheel unit. Next on the build list is his tilting table.

Just curious why not using a ready made trike?

I’ve probably watched this six times even though I have no use for a belt grinder and don’t even work with metal, I just oddly enjoy this video😂

Great video Jer. I have started to do some woodworking and woodturning and I will need to build an extractor fan in a few months or so, once my new wood shed has been built. You explain the process very well and throw in a few tips and tricks. Much appreciated. Every time you use your belt grinder I think it is my belt grinder. I built one the same as your one from your plans about 4 years ago. It is one of the best tools in the shop and I cant understand why I did not build one earlier.

I was disappointed to find out my square bar wasn’t square, the sides had a small rise in them that I had to file flat, other than that my build is coming along well, struggling to get the DOM at the moment Cheers Jer

tip: size it to target the center of much thicker wood, then you can always add spacers to the jig.

Not many home fabricators will have access to a lathe. If you make a kit with the turned parts, more ppl can fabricate bikes like this.

Good but I like the Polish guy that did the wheels himself and uses more easy to make (faster) double square on top of each other, one for the table and one for the arm. I am going to make my own wheels and then fabricate the rest from random scrap.

I'm wondering why you wouldn't just put feet on the center modules for support. Having feet for each vertical section gives you more flexibility to rearrange. Is it because adjusting them, especially if the floor isn't completely level or flat, would be more fiddly than attaching wood to the bottom for support?
