Jeremy, the work you do is meticulous and amazing. Until I watched your videos on your 2' X 72" belt grinder I had no idea how useful one could be and also had no idea I need and want one. Not only do you do excellent quality work in the building process but you also are outstanding at explaining and narrating the build process. Thank you for your great work!

You did something in this video that I always love watching Matthias Wandel's big build videos - using the unfinished tool to build another part for itself before the tool itself is actually complete. Great stuff! I've never been into metal working, but now I think I'm going to have to build one of these when I have a shop someday because it just looks so damn handy.

highly functional belt grinder. this new addition is not only stylish, but also incredibly well built imo. so precise - its nice how the beltsander helped create a new addition for itself. I really think you should consider creating a refinded model of this so that i can be produced on a larger scale. The belt grinder and all of their addons would make a fantastic addition to any woodworking shop or machinist shop. great stuff Jeremy, you must feel accomplished :D

Jeremy, superb as always... That last frame got me. For anyone who has done compound angle preps for tube welding... I'm speechless. With a removable, adjustable fence on that adjustable angle work rest any angle of prep would be simple and repeatable. That alone would make your grinder worthwhile! Thank you.

Dude!! I have worked in the foundry industry for 30 years. There are a lot of Belt Grinders out there but I have never seen one like this. Well done!! I would say you should go into business manufacturing them but I also believe the guards and safety devices OSHA would make you attache for an industrial setting would greatly reduce the versatility and effectiveness of the grinder. Again Well done!!

jeremy, you asked in another video if we have any project requests. i have been employed as a modelmaker & prototype / mock-up mechanic. a tool most model shops had where i worked was a 20'' disc sander, w/ reversable motor, & degreed platen table. i don't see them at auctions, & they are pricey new. 16'' - 20'' would work. love your design sensability.

@MatthewSkars
@MatthewSkars 6 жыл бұрын
You have probably already thought about this and decided against it, but I'd like to share my point of view on the matter as a part of your general audience. For your less finalised ideas, you could try experimenting with another format. For example, instead of a long, (generally) ≤ 20 minute video with fully fleshed out ideas, a format where you experiment with one or several new ideas and compress the content into a ≤ 5 minute "bite-sized" video might be more suitable (such as the "Super precise measurements with your phone!" video). As your audience (yes, I am boldly speaking for the majority), we want to see all of the ideas you have, even if you believe they're not worthy of a full ≤ 20 min video. Which is why these "bite-sized" videos, where you share your ideas, would help satiate your viewer's hunger for more content by filling in the gap between the regular "fleshed out" videos.

I assume your dad is a farmer and you work for him. You should definitely get him in a video. I hope he has immense pride for you and what you're doing making stuff. You could probably make building these grinders with your design your career for the rest of your life. Again assuming but there has to be a market for overbuilt grinders for the hardcore.
