for functionality design, it is yamaha definitely, however the sounds from Yamaha Genos are way too disappointing, and they are not even as good as its precedor Tyros 5. Not sure about what happened to Yamaha. But the Korg really wins on the sound engine side. I am just wondering whether the pa5x allowes extensive midi sysex programming as Genos.

just bought vox ac4tv8 today, it sounds amazing compare to pro junior. vox has more mid and mellow tone. the crucial thing is i could set max volume with attenuator on 1watt to play at home

Korg definitely has more presence and better sound overall. BUT! For stage use the Pitch and Mod Wheel can be very important. That plus less weight and flat top made me choose Yamaha.

The speakers on the S975 is better than SX900 IMO, the low freq is better and the high is more soft to my ears. My school has both keyboards, so I can compare them directly.

Many of these have faulty display screens which will fail just after warranty expires rendering them useless for most of the features.

The app missed out on such potential. The only thing you can do from the app which you can’t do from the hardware (BK7M) is see a few more tone choices at once. (On the BK9, it has fewer functions than the front panel.) Who wants to use virtual buttons for stop/start & variations when they are there on the unit (or on your pedals)? Why did it not include a mixer for the BK7m? (But then Roland would have had to make the tone parts’ volume addressable over midi, which they did not seem to do.) This app is a disappointing, big missed opportunity.

I used SX 900, SX 700 and CK 61 All my keyboard is YAMAHA. I used Korg more than 25 year. Korg good also.. but for nowadays I recommend Yamaha.

Which DAW did you used to record the sounds and styles, Logic, Cubase, ?? They both great keyboards. As a pianist I prefer 88 keys, pity the Genos at such high price tag does not come with the 88 keys version.

If u find Sound , Choose Korg PA If u find Style , Choose Yamaha SX. But Becareful SX feel like cheaper to PA and it has alot of error. Buy and test if you dont believe .

I have the Pa1000 that is half the price of the Pa4x and the sounds are identical. Save your money and get a Pa1000😅

I bought a 76 key T5 2 years ago - still learning all about it - but deffo sounds ace with the volume up - picks out more of the subtleties I am finding.

Hell of a difference in voices plus after touch tweaks in Genos. Its a clear win

Yamaha is amazing .

I have owned the Tyros 5 for about 6 years and the PA5X for about a year. I like both but, to me, the organ is far superior on the Korg. The organ sounds didn't improve much, if at all,on the Genos 2. The screen, to me, is far superior on the Korg as well. If you do lots of one-man-band gigs, like many Asian people do, the Yamaha might be a better choice because that's the one most used and you can easily exchange styles or use someone else's keyboard at a gig.

Quality of the keyboard mechanics is also very important. Korg has this high quality weighted keys. I'm not sure if Tyros 5 is similar to this. Soundswise for me they are on same level. For the Korg you probably need to buy the Musikant extension to have the same number of styles as Tyros.

Hi, I've got a Yamaha DTX6K-X model and I am trying to get the kick sound out of the hi-hat pedal without changing the cymbals into kicks (basically trying to get a double bass via hi hat pedal) Even the Swedish Metal kit is not applying the change Any suggestions?
