I kinda wish BDO devs were like EVE online's team when it comes to PVP. EVE online devs are like if you can do it to another player its legal. I think BDO forgot it was a hardcore open world PVP game because of how much money they make off casual microtransactions and cosmetics. Just another game ruined by the success of their shop. Warframe was another game that completely stagnated because they made so much off their in-game shop. Monetary success for Online games seems to be the death of them.

The video is very good ! I agree with the fact that they became very greedy with the monetization .I am a veteran at bdo and they chance as a company in this regards . They don't even know how to make money to be honest .Look at some of the bigger games that are free to play and have transactions in game for example POE . A game free to play that has 1000s of costumes and some pay for convenience like stash tabs but nothing else and they make alot of money couse of that.What does BDO have ? A couple of costumes for a 10 yo + game. All my friends left the game when they saw how much p2w is in the game. Not becouse of the farm , grind or quests.

I left for several years and just came back. I am having a wonderful time and I am so happy I came back. In 45 days I surpassed my old character which I had played for years because of the season system.

Imo this isnt just a video for the BDO devs and players but really a video every developer should watch and learn from. So densely packed with information and good learnings for overall game design, especially since this is from years of experience with a game.

Coming back to you again in almost 2024 homie, and I can tell you while there has been many QOL additions to the game, many core issues have not been fixed and I don't think will ever be fixed. It's actually insane.

HUMANS? never choose luck over materials or stats that are guaranteed, this is common knowledge across all rpg games ever made. Thanks for saying it so early so i knew to stop watching. Humans have always been the worst worker, in fact the developers just they just recently tripled their luck chances in a recent update (which confirms what ive been telling people all along)

2 years later and they've capped 90% of nodewars + sieges, and 9/13/2023 war decs now have to be mutual. Dead game.

I tried enjoying Project 1999, but I never could wrap my head around the clunky controls, messy interface and really buggy client. Sadly it's mostly built for people who played EQ1 before. I've played WoW since 2010, so I am familiar with MMORPGs, but i feel so lost in P99.

I math and I like the art of numbers, when I used to play Warframe I used to dive into the math to get the optimal DPS for my weapons making the most useless of weapons destroy end game but in BDO everything is hidden and even after all these years it's all confusing which is a huge turn off.

Bruh what has developers to do with games in huge studios?? only managers are the problem, the decision is not in the hand of developers.

this video popped up randomly via auto play so i understand that i'm late to the party. I understand this is your take and why you left but you structure it very oddly. Karma system is 100% necessary. People do just kill low geared players for fun its pretty common far more common than you would think. I understand that bombing is not fun but its also not as common because people genuinely don't like it. but if you removed the karma system people would stand there and just murder a bunch of low geared players for fun far more than they do now. It would happen so much that no new players would play. now to horses a T10 is not necessary at all. T9 isn't even needed. You only need a few skills and they give out horses with those skills all the time. I have a bunch saved up for no reason because I already own a T9. To add to that dalies are not mobile game specific. They are in several very popular MMOs and other games. You are right its to keep engagement because thats kind of the point of playing and making a game. If you made a game i would assume you wouldn't want no one to play it. This isn't a solo experience that ends its an on going game with updates all the time. You aren't wrong for leaving but you are wrong about a lot of these fixes as they don't fix the game at all. At one point you basically said make it not a Sandbox MMO make it dragons nest basically.

I quit this game for about 3 years, returned a week ago. Never thought I would but the current unseen free T9 horse and crazy items from coupons lured me back in. Game changed allot, lots of QoL with the new magnus (teleporting and full access to storage from anywhere, any city) and having fun for now. They even have character stats now with all hidden stats visible! Even did a T2 nodewar last night undergeared but they capped it in AP/DP/Evasion/Accuracy according to tier and I actualy had a blast. I honestly think they took notes from this video and fixed it all 😂

As a former Physics developer, your mind would be blown to how bad Physics is coded in BDO. I could fix things in one night, but PA seems to have extremely difficulty fixing things.
