Your still going to need the disc drive to play your COD BO6 game. It needs to read the licence off the disc. I got my PS5 Pro today and bought the disc drive for it back in September before they sold out everywhere, so good to go.

I'll probably think of buying a PS5 Pro once I see gameplay from GTA 6 and Wolverine. Slight enhancements for current and last gen games don't interest me enough right now for a purchase, apart from maybe Spiderman 2. That does look incredible 😍

I wouldn’t say they are slight enhancements for the older games, honestly if you watch lives from people with good capture cards…omg everything looks Super crisp. I can’t wait to get mine tomorrow! In a very similar situation. Was deep into Prince of Persia on disc on my PS5, bought the Pro and now, disc drives are impossible to buy unless you pay double from a scalper. I can sit it out though. Also sold my old PS5 with a few disc games that have since become PS+ monthly games, so recouped £380 towards my Pro.

Nice unboxing review makes me want a ps5 pro . It is a lot of extra money on top of the ps5 but it is nice you get 2tb and 50% more GPU power under the hood . I think if you game a lot then it's worth it but if only a casual gamer then probably not worth it .

It wouldn't be such a problem if the digital versions of games were cheaper...but most of the time the deals are better on disc versions

​@@WhatGear I always wait for disc version of games to go on sale. I got a few older games from online for a matter of few pounds. Good way to play classics cheap. Plus Im oldscool and loved the days id swap games with friends. Il alway go disc/cartdrige based for consoles as long as they exist

pro has a 2 tb ssd so there is your disc drive you just have to buy one... the slim only has 1 tb

You could always take the disc drive from your other PlayStation 5 and connect it to the PS5 Pro. That’s what I did.

Cant do that if you have the original Ps5. It only work with the Ps5 Slim disc drive. That one you can swap to your Ps5 Pro

That's what I did I took the drive from my slim and put it on and put my SSD on no problem

@@WhatGear you can use the detachable drive from the slim model (that’s the same drive that Sony sells online) but you’d need to leave it on the pro because you need to put the discs in to play the games you own on disc. You could also repurchase your disc games from the store digitally.

Mate, you would need to get one of the games that received a dedicated PS5 Pro update to notice any differences. Sony added a PS5 Pro section to the PS Store, so all the upgraded games should be listed there. Also worth noting that PS5 Pro enhances all PS4 titles. All in all, not worth the money anyway imo, especially with no disc drive or a stand (i don't count those crappy, plastic feet)😂

Yes it’s a waste when you can get a PC. DLSS smokes PSSR, not to mention the Zen 2 CPU in the Pro holds it back. Here’s an idea just over £700. Sell your PS5 get around £300 now your £300 up. Spend a bit more than the Pro and get this instead. All from new. PC case (decent case under £100) CPU: Ryzen 7600 (Zen 4) £179 NZXT T120 CPU cooler £40.00 Thermal Lake GF1 PSU £85.00 Gigabyte B650 Eagle Motherboard £140 Kingston Fury DDR5 Ram 32GB £60.00 Gigabyte Windforce RTX4070 £479.00 Total = £1083- the 300 back for the base PS5. Your total spend is £783 and now you have a with PC that out performs the Pro in raw power and in upscaling technology along with a much more capable CPU. Ehh been digital since 2015 and I have zero regrets. Who wants to swap out disc? Especially if you have a portal. I can play all my games in my catalog from 2015 to now without having to touch my ps5 from anywhere in the world. Plus I wait for games to go on sale if I’m not sure they’ll be good.
