Yeah skills are important,I’m staying at the hospital as a LPN but ima be prn at the nursing home plus I’ll be working at my cousin med spa in NO and Nevada This the whole reason for me becoming an LPN, because i can still make good money while I’m furthering my career, nursing is just where it’s at PERIOD.

Cvicu is the best experience for CRNA. Save up. CRNA discourages working during the 3 years of school.

Why do some LPNs encourage other LPN to not further their education? I see it a lot. I know there is money in LPN. But I’ve never seen any RN regrets bridging to being an RN. Moreover, the money is better as well.

What ??? I have never seen or heard that as a successful LVN and a RN student I encourage any one that asks me to go straight to RN if possible…..

I can't say I know everyone's reason, but I've had some coworkers (also LPNs) try to discourage me from going back to school. Part of me thinks they're scared of taking risks for themselves and resent other people who have the confidence to do so. I don't know if I want to go the APRN route, but know I don't want stuck living in the middle of nowhere working in SNFs for the rest of my career when I can work in a hospital and make enough money to support myself in a desirable city that is closer to family. Being an RN opens up so many options, but I don't regret becoming an LPN first. It helped me escape working dead end minimum wage jobs with no future.

@@katja602 facts I totally get your reasoning for wanting to be a RN which is some of the reasons why I’m currently in school for my RN I will say this I personally tell people to go straight to RN if possible But I love being a Successful Lvn I make What RNs make and I still want to pursue higher education.EVERYONE IS ON A DIFFERENT PATH ON THIS JOURNEY OF LIFE .

In my city they see lpn experience as a crutch. They’d rather higher the new grad rn in icu than the 15 year lpn because they assume the experienced nurse comes with bad habits and they can mold the new grad into what they see fit. Also, the crna schools here don’t allow you to work while in school.

Girl you’re amazing😊. I would love to understand though how you are working towards your BSN while in LPN to RN. Can you go into detail. (I too am going the CRNA route)

Some BSN programs offer dual enrollment where you can take classes towards your BSN while you are enrolled in a RN program. You can also work on prereqs that you may need for a BSN program while you are in a RN program. It’s def not the easiest but you may be able to get at least 2 classes done.

Whoa! Dis is great. Do you know what schools would be easier to get in with less experience. What grades do u think is competitive.

Mostly As in all of your sciences, cumulative gpa of 3.0 science gpa of 3.5 minimum is pretty good but it really depends on your whole package as a student, from the research Ive done
