You do not answer the question why use watercolour white. It is to change the hue to creamier shade. It makes it opaque

The third one Isn't wet on wet. It's wet on dry. It would be wet on wet if you would prewet the area like you did in the first and second example. That makes the red color spread more easily.

Thank you so much! Especially for sharing your first painting! It is nice to go back and look where we started ... and to realize even your early work holds beauty (which is why we paint!)

Greetings Meredith and thank you for all your videos. Really enjoy them. Question- Pardon my ignorance but what exactly does this exercise do/will this do for me? How does this exercise help my landscape painting? How do I use/apply this in landscape painting? Thanks.

Would you add another exercise for practicing glazes/layers? I'm having a problem figuring out how to adjust them so I’m not painting dry but also not lifting previous layers. Your explanations for other stuff are good, so I’m hoping you have insight into this.

When you made the wet on wet (#3), was the paper wet first or was it that the you applied the blue paint with a lot of water (making it wet), and then the magenta wet paint?

Great video. Just beginning this adventure. Used to painting toll paintings on wood, so this is a brand new medium for me. Have to learn completely new techniques. The paint, the brushes used, and paper are so, so different from wood!. I was getting frustrated until I accidentally ran into your videos. Thanks so much for making this possible for me. I've been in stage 5 isolation in a retirement home for over 2 months, now, due to this covid-19 virus (I'm not sick) and art is one of the tools keeping me sane (love to sketch).

I’m so thankful for this tutorial. I’m a beginning beginner. I know nothing about art but I have a burning desire to learn. So I’m forcing myself to take in as much beginning information as I can. I have WAY more supplies than I need according to you, but I’m secretly glad I do. They’re so pretty. And I bought good quality supplies After watch these three exercises I am going to get some student grade paper and save my good stuff for later. Thank you for the instructions!
