How in the hell could that stewardesses even stand in the shattered cockpit, the wind would make any conversation impossible.

Nowadays this all seems unbelievably ludicrous! 😂 Then, with _Aeroplane_ from 1980 it became _officially_ ludicrous! But truth is, I saw this movie when I was 10 and enjoyed every frame of it... 😐 we were fed very different stuff.

So lets try to board the aircraft through the jagged hole with wires and panels hanging down. Yeah the plane is depressurized. So I guess we could go through an open door for a cleaner entry, but that is not as dramatic...

I met Ed Nelson at St Genevieve Church in Slidell in 2002 at the installation of the new Pastor, Fr Roel Lungay, who used to be at my Metairie parish church, St Ann. I also saw Ed at a UNO basketball game ....he Sat on our same row.. .

In later years, when the cable channel WTBS (later shortened to TBS) would show this movie, they did a preview trailer a couple of days before. The trailer ended with "Lots of suspense. And Erik Estrada (who played the flight engineer)" - followed with the shot of Karen Black screaming.

BS the queen of the sky’s wheel were designed to gravity drop and lock. Also the engines would have more that enough reverse thrust to stop her.

Airport 1975 is my favorite of the sequels. And Larry Storch as the TV station owner Glen Purcell. Only he could take what was intended to be a serious scene (Patroni, Murdoch, and Purcell discussing the status of the private pilot) and turn it into a "comic relief in the middle of the drama" moment.

Wouldn't it have made sense to keep going straight, hit the dirt, and retract the nose gear? It worked for Kurt Russell.
