Such a helpful video ❤ I have a question though. You said part of your yearly savings went to buying a car. So that means that the money spent on the car is not part of the equation when calculating those 40% of yearly savings? I'm never sure what expenses should be considered "from the savings" and not taken into account when calculating which percentage one saved in a year. I hope that makes sense 🙈

Chat GPT is terribly inaccurate for astrology, I would highly recommend getting a reading from an astrologer as it will be infinitely more helpful if it’s accurate to you.

Great thoughts! | started investing earlier 3 months ago .with a start of 30k. I made my first 100k USD last month. Today, I have a decent $260K nest egg. My only regret is not starting earlier. This comment serves as motivation for all those who haven't made returns from investments, do not give up, the right investments will change your life. I should retire soon as long as things remain this good…

I have been doing sinking funds since last year, and I love it! It makes me feel very calm and in control that I have enough money for everything and that I’m not overspending on fun stuff when that money should have gone to important stuff. Because I’m doing sinking funds, I also have a better overview of how much I am spending for these categories and also maybe find out if I can lower that amount (if it makes sense to do so). I do it for things like car, insurances, Christmas and holidays. And sometimes for big purchases, like a new TV this year. Highly recommend :)

I’ll also add that for some of my sinking funds, I am actually using kind of the debt snowball principle: Basically I calculate the yearly amounts that I would need to put in these funds, and I start putting the money starting from the smaller one. So let’s say this year I need to put 500€ for my car insurance and 300€ for my home insurance. In January, I’ll put the full 300€ for my home insurance, then in February I’ll put the full 500€ for my car insurance, etc. I don’t do it for the bigger ones, for those I put a monthly amount.

I started using the budgeting spreadsheet you show at 13:28 and it's so cunty I love it. I usually do save quite a bit but as far as spending and where my money goes I mostly just guess and day to day I never really know what I have in my bank account. In 2025 I'm changing that though and I'm committing myself to being financially literate.

When u have the time , energy and interest to make this video we'd be super grateful!

Hi Nika! Great video, really to date. Could you please recommend any course or book or other resource on Google Sheets/Excel? I love building my own sheets but I mostly struggle to make them update automatically (e.g.when you fill in the 'Annual' tab, same categories should appear in all the monthly tabs). Thank you ♥ I've been very (a bit overly) responsible with my budgets over the past 5 years or so, except that in 2023 I quit my job and now live on passive income only. That works for now and sounds great, but is also a bit scary because I am not sure if I'd be able to keep doing this forever, meanwhile I am afraid that my worth on professional market decreases the longer I 'skip'. Of course I don't make anywhere near 6fig in passive income so your video made me think if I actually should be back working. I honestly don't know for now but I'd like to figure that out in 2025. P.S> Now that you have a car and planning to get a dog, you probably need categories for that (gas, any regular checkups and repair - please disregard if it's already included in car bill and transport category), dog food, vet, etc) :) So exciting!
