Pumla 48:36 men are more privileged. Let’s even use your example of child birth, child rearing and what not. Because we are privileged to be the ones that bear and nurture the children, it affects several aspects of our lives. After child birth, you can just walk out and go to work. You have to stay home for some months before you can work again. Some employers are hesitant to hire newly wed women or women of child bearing age, because they will soon get pregnant and their productivity will reduce. Then we have to deal with the mum guilt. While at work, you are restless and wondering whether the people you left in charge if your child are doing a good job. That stuff doesn’t affect most men as much. Some men are excited about paternity leave because it’s more time to watch soccer.

Let me forward this to the men around me. I will always try to advocate for men. It always takes alot of emotional maturity for men to reach that level of Allan and his friends

A question to the Subscribers here and viewers, how do you support / Empower your househelps ? ( in the Hope that they will not stay on this Job for all their lives)
@msmuhindo6657
@msmuhindo6657 10 күн бұрын
First. Teach them basic things about life, frugality, importance of saving, etc. basically, so them the world, so that they are able to dream and discover their purpose. Then discuss ways you can support their dreams.

Thank you PPJ for sharing your experiences . Last year I realised that even in the middle lower class, or upper lower class, there might be someone you have a certain privilege over. My househelp who could not complete school because of schools fees shared how hard someone in their village has to work to earn 1000Ugshs ( if anyone has farmed before, imagine having to make 30 sweet potato heaps to earn 1000Ugshs)...when will a parent raise 200,000 for Schools fees and if they have to multiply thi by 3 children. ) I appreciated that I was privileged and I pledged to support atleast 2 of her siblings through school for as long as they are interested.

What a nice way to close 2024. Me, I can tell u about pretty privilege. In high school, being dark-skinned, I was friends with lighter skinned girls, n trust me, the experience was horrible for me.

For women, pretty privilege is consequential! In that it permeates aspects such as your dating/ marriage prospects, your access to goods, sometimes services ( pretty people tend to be listened to more, helped more, etc). Promotions too. And even believability/ halo effect comes from how attractive someone is to a degree. There are whole studies on how pretty privilege even for men, they may not be termed as pretty, but attractiveness has a role to play in how far in life sometimes you can get.
