Where do you get the propeller bat? Can I get it on Amazon so I can get my son's homeschool voucher to buy it?
@chrislewis506918 сағат бұрын
It’s funny after being around baseball so long the different hitting trends that come. It was Charlie lau and keeping the hips close while striding forward and letting the top hand off as soon as contact is made. Then then you have Ted Williams and his approach and Kevin long and the Yankees and all these diffent approaches none of which are absolute must besides putting the sweet spot on strikes

The hand grip might be the biggest part of the HLP that I haven't heard about. I've kept the traditional grip within the first set of knuckles. Does keeping it back in the hand also apply for the bottom hand? It seems like having the bat set deeper in the hand will help with leverage when snapping the bat.

Love the videos but one thing confuses me.. it’s the verbal cue to feel like I’m breaking a stick (the bat). As if the hands pull in the opposite way… rather than in the same direction. Do the hands rotate in the same direction, or opposite as if to break the stick? Thanks for all the cool content.

Will the coaches have backlash???? Ooooohhhhh boy!!!!! They don’t like what they don’t know. Thankfully my son is strong enough to what he wants to do. It’s taken 2 seasons, where he didn’t perform as well as his peers. But now, it’s paying off. The coach says he has no idea how he does it, but it’s working.

This is the only thing i slightly disagree with in regards to HLP. 3rd guy was doing it right. Pivot comes from driving the back elbow, hands are a byproduct.
@optimalpowerperformance6 күн бұрын
@@Quantjason we spend a large majority of our time making sure we do not lead with the elbow (elbow slot) as it takes drastically to much time compared to the actual snap. The actual snap makes room for the elbow to be underneath. Elbow is our by product.

Sure would hate to see a coach screw up a young kid's natural baseball swing by forcing this stuff. Lotsa players found their way into the HOF and All-star teams that didnt have a "HLP" swing. More than one way to be a successful hitter.
@mailyoder8 күн бұрын
The explosion you generate from your coil/stretch is "all in" over your rear leg - palm up/down and torso "tilt" sends that barrel into a blurr behind you. It sounds counter intuitive because we tend to think of crushing the ball with the barrel AT (or millimeters before) contact with the ball. It does take trust in the HLP mechanics to go "all in" behind to get at a ball you intend to hit in front of your rear leg.
@mailyoder8 күн бұрын
Disconnecting that knob out in front before you truly explode results in a misfire.

@@VicInNocalWhich makes it even better for the rest of us. I play in a men’s league(yea i know it’s men’s league but still). Been doing this for 2 years. I’m not perfect with this every at bat, or the best in my league, but all the fielders are on alert when i’m hitting.

@PinstripePaPa517 I've had some good moments with it but also some inconsistency, and it feels a bit spinny to me. I do like the idea of launch quickness and being able to swing instantly at decision.
@devxplayerdevelopment9 күн бұрын
He’s talking to the pro or college guy facing 95 regularly. This works for even a 13 year old facing 70, because the 13 year old isn’t as quick as the pro or college guy so it’s very helpful for them to be able to have the barrel quickness. Regardless of competition level, it’s always an advantage to be able to see the ball for longer before having to react.

@optimalpowerperformance13 күн бұрын
@@RiedSalottolo-zc6xu Greg Maddox was drafted in 1984 throwing 88-91. Back then that was considered “good velo”. In today’s game (40 years later) kids with 3-4 pitches are getting cut from Jucos throwing 88-91. In today’s game we have hundreds of high school prospects throwing mid - upper 9s and even touching 100mph. The talent on the mound is drastically different now than 40 years ago. Getting seen at 88-91 would require more outlier stuff. I.e. side arm, submarine, knuckle baller, etc. because it’s just not that impressive any more.
