Coming from an avid book reader and collector, people normally don't like faces on the covers of their books. The overall cover is amazing, I know your face is the brand of the book, but I can picture it more pleasing with just the snap of your garden, with the ducks

I see that Huw Richards recommends it - he is a terrific gardener. And Amazon UK will ship to us.

Newts are my fave little critters to check out, there was always this one spot at camp I would go check out because there was always a little family of them that stayed together under some logs near the pond. My favorite thing to do was counting how many there where and to see if they had any friends who were different over. They where red spotted newts, very pretty little critters they are. I was never allowed to pick them up so I'd just gently lift the log and lovingly watch them chill. The most I've seen together was 12 under that log and 1 black and yellow salamander so 13! Newts are chill little guys.

Jonquils go really well in damp boggy conditions. We back onto a creek and they’ve naturalised down near the back hedge. It’s gumboots only down there half the year.

I look forward to seeing these in your garden! I have a lot of squirrels, and I put a couple handfuls of small sharp rocks in the hole when planting , and then sprinkled in the fill. It has worked so well, as they don't like digging through the grit. Doubt that will work with badgers though. I Love your big crocus, we tried a couple times to plant them, but bunnies eat most of them, so mostly tulips, daffodils, and allium, and they do naturalize pretty well here in Illinois.
@ЛюбовьВласова-п7б7 күн бұрын
After planting the tulip bulbs, place a metal mesh on top and sprinkle it with soil, this will prevent squirrels from digging up the bulbs, while at the same time the sprouts will be able to easily grow through the mesh.

I’m in Tennessee, so I know it’s a little different from where you are, but we sell a product at the nursery I work at that you mix in with the soil that voles and squirrels don’t like to dig through. You could do that around your tulips so nothing digs them up. One is called mole go and the other is called permatil. Permatil is a kind of sharp gravel that they don’t like digging through and mole go has castor oil in it and it irritates their whiskers so they don’t dig through it. Maybe y’all have something similar at your local nursery.
