Hi Eve, when it came down from the wheelie, it took weight off the back tires (unloaded the rear suspension) and the chassis got upset, so it started spinning the tires and began to fish tail. It actually had both back tires hit the front of the fenders and cut both tires down to the cords. I couldn’t make any more passes after that to adjust the suspension. Our track closed a couple months later so I never got to race it again.

If you can’t find an original/oem turbo Buick tank, your only real option is the new Spectra GM407c tank or a custom tank from Rick’s Tanks…. It’s expensive but a nice option…. Right now I’m on the Spectra tank but it’s a pain in the ass to fill up every time. I’ll be going back to the oem tank as soon as I can fix it. Probably this winter.

Depends on if you want to tune it or not. If you are staying on the stock tune, you need the Haltech CAI with the pipe size for the stock MAF. It’ll still lean the car out some….which is why they gain so much power with them. Mine made 565 rwhp all stock other the the CAI…which is pretty good for an auto car. If you’re gonna tune the car and do future mods, get the Cordes 5” intake. The MAF curve will need some work but it’s not bad.

My old man used to have this triple black 67 442. The thing would do a wheelie taking off. He also had a champagne 64 Impala 409 that would break your neck and make you crap your pants. Dad shook his head in disappointment the day my brother brought home a new 5.7 TPI IROC Z. Dad pointed to the garage at his freshly painted Chevy orange 68 C10 stepside with a 396 and said lets go up to the airport. Dad beat him off the line, and then my brother said the IROC was a top end car. Dad said okay lets see about that and proceeded to race him on the interstate. The Camaro couldn't keep up. I was riding shotgun in the Camaro and the speedometer held 120mph for several miles. The funny thing is, GM was our family's muscle, while Ford was our everyday beaters. In 2020, I put dad into a nursing home because of his stroke and dementia. His daily driver was a 91 2.3 5 speed Ranger with over 400k miles on it. He owned several other older Fords with 300k miles on them. I bought him a 98 Silverado customized with 350 and auto. Completely rebuilt motor and remanned trans. The truck would smoke tires with no leaks, rust or imperfections. Dad just had both knees replaced. I wanted to give him a Christmas present. He ended up selling it because it wasn't manual. At this point dad could barely push in a clutch pedal with his left leg. Ended up showing up at the nursing home with a triple black 67 442 the other day. With much difficulty I managed to let the nursing home let me take him for a ride. It wasn't his car, but it was almost the same. He smiled ear to ear. I even let him change a few gears going down the road. He's in a wheelchair now and wears a diaper. He crapped himself in 1st gear. I kissed him on the forehead and told him paybacks a bitch. Now when I see him, crazy with dementia or not, he recollects perfectly his former days with cars and we have real conversations. It's funny how the brain works. When he dies and I die, we'll be driving the cars in heaven together.

Hi, the engine is a stock 109 block, billet caps/billet girdle, Eagle 3.625” crank, Molnar 6.38” rods, custom Diamond pistons. It’s around 9.7-1 compression. Billet 218/218* custom Comp cam. Fully ported TA SE heads, fully ported Champion race intake, 70MM TB. 6766 DBB Precision turbo, RJC front mount. It’s running on an ECU GN and it’s on e85. On the dyno it was at 27 psi and 18* of timing. Trans is a Janis Transmission stage 3 2004R, full billet, trans brake etc. the converter at the time of this vid was a 9.5” PTC NLU with a 15 blade. It’s a Circle D 9.5 LU now. That’s about it. I could have probably made a bit more power on the dyno with a little more timing and boost but, on the street it makes about 30-32 psi and that’s about as much as I push it. It’s been [email protected] in the 1/4 and runs 6.0s on the 60-130 on the Dragy. Thanks for watching

@@AJsSpeedShop That's a lot of beef there dude, and i thought all i needed was bigger injectors, fuel rail, bigger turbo, intercooler and call it a day, i would like it to be at 11s your's is super fast so i'm hoping it'll be simpler, you really have almost a funny car on your hands, does AC work?
@AJsSpeedShop
@AJsSpeedShop 3 ай бұрын
11s are very easy…. All you really need for 11s on a bone stock GN is a good fuel pump/wiring upgrade, bigger injectors Ally control meth kit, an upgraded Turbo Tweak chip, and MAYBE a better torque converter with more stall speed. Hell you can get into the 10s with a bone stock motor with upgraded valve springs and timing chain and the above mentioned parts, along with a little bigger turbo like a 6266… You can keep it simple. The jump from high 10s to high 9s is HUGE though…. Like $20k in mods huge. And yes, my AC, PS, PB all work well. It’s setup on flex fuel so I can run 93 for road trips. I drive it on long road trips every year. It’s more of a touring car than a race car. It could be a mid 9 second car if I shifted more focus to racing it, but I enjoy cruising it mainly

I have a question about the wiring what do I have to do to go from the stock wiring to a 1 wire alt
@AJsSpeedShop
@AJsSpeedShop 4 ай бұрын
You don’t have to do anything to the stock wiring, you just won’t plug in the square plug that comes from the dash “VOLT” light. The 1 wire style alternator will start charging without wire/plug connected. You will want to add a 4 gauge charge wire from the alternator to the battery and a 4 gauge ground wire from the alternator to the battery. All the other stock wiring will stay intact. If your “Volt” light on the dash comes on, you may either have to remove the bulb, OR you may be able to plug the square plug into the alternator just for the light to function, but the alternator won’t need it itself.

That’s basically my plan for the new tank. I’ll basically have to build a new smaller diameter, but taller bucket in the new tank. The old original tank is clean as can be inside, it’s only the outside strap area that had any rust at all.

As long as your stock tank is decent inside now, it will stay fine. The key is not letting water/humidity form in the tank. Keep it full of gas on long naps and it’ll be fine. My gas tank in my 71’ is the original born with tank and it still looks like new inside. Just don’t let the gas go bad or the tank sit half empty where moisture can form.

What about using some type of racing fuel cell?
@AJsSpeedShop
@AJsSpeedShop 4 ай бұрын
A fuel cell is always an option….however, depending on your car’s usage, they aren’t real great for street cars. Usually they are less capacity, have to be filled from the trunk, they eat up your trunk space, and you can’t run internal pumps in most of them. For race cars or serious street/strip cars they are a good option but, for a car that gets driven a lot, road tripped, wanting quiet fuel pumps etc, it’s best to stay with a stock style tank.
