Grand National trans brake launch

Nasty launch testing the transbrake in my Grand National. Wheelied then unloaded on the landing and spun.

You aren’t lying man. It’s a mechanical trans brake so I have to shift out of low to release the brake, it got hairy real quick, barely got my hand up there in time. Felt like I got rear ended when I let go of the brake. It made 27 psi instantly when I let go of the brake. Full send. Lol

Hi, the dash is from DD-EFI, it works in conjunction with the ECU GN and Megasquirt ECU’s. Go to dd-efi.com for more info

Yeah I wasn’t expecting it to make the boost that quick either. The converter is extremely loose….way too loose honestly.

Yeah no doubt. The pro touring suspension is definitely not good for transbrake launches. Lol. Won’t be trying that again.

What do you have in that motor set up? 109 block forged internals?

Yes, it’s a 109 block with 2 billet middle caps, a main girdle, Eagle 4140 3.625” crank, Molnar 6.3” rods, custom Diamond Pistons with -20cc dish. It’s zero decked and pistons are .005” out of the hole. It’s around 9.7-1 compression with a .040” Cometic head gasket and a 50cc chamber. Heads are TA SE aluminum heads that have been ported by Champion, it also has the high rise Champion intake and it’s been fully ported. 70MM TB, 218/218* custom cam from Bison. Went spent a lot time and money on the valvetrain setup to make it stable and it revs to 6700 cleanly.. Chassis dyno video drops Friday, stay tuned!

Yeah she was a bit spicy. First time I had ever tried the transbrake. It made 26 psi within a couple feet of the line so…. A tad much. Won’t be trying that again. Lol

Can you go through all settings with touchscreen?

Hi, the screen is from Digital Dash EFI, it works with Mega Squirt ECUs. There really isn’t any “settings” to toggle through…but it’s all customizable. I designed the screen you see here. The Pro Dash is basically a laptop, in your dash. It does everything a laptop connected to your ECU can do.

This engine was built by Westside Performance in Houston. They do all of the local Buick motors. They’ve done good for me. They’ll be doing my TA motor next.
