Saw your post. I purchased a 2021 diesel that had 32,000 miles on it. At 35,000 miles the fuel pump failed and our vehicle had catastrophic damage done to it. The pump failure was before the recall parts were available so we were SOL. With the strike going on at the time and the time the dealership could do the work, it was 6 months without a car. We were very fortunate we weren’t injured or killed when we enlist power going 70 mph. I personally would not buy a diesel Jeep that has not had this part changed out with an open recall. If you think this posting was a nightmare, you haven’t lived!

Hey quick question, since your a full time Honda mechanic… What are your thoughts about Jeep reliability? I know you have a Jeep and I’m considering one but I have a Honda and it has been very reliable. Just wanted to hear your thoughts.

Just as reliable as a honda. Honda quality has dropped hard since 2002. Hell the last good honda was the 2006-2007 4 cylinder accord. Like every car if you take care of it you will be ok.

My daughter and I did Charlie’s 10/12/24. It was our first time. Has to be my favorite Georgia trail. Bad part was she had to go through the big mud hole at the end. She got suck. I winched her out and then we couldn’t to go in drive. It was still a fun day.

You can also adjust that step up so the heater sits higher, less hose distance and makes it easier to attach the exhaust, I also had to soundproof mine with acoustic matting, the clicking drove me crazy. They are definitely worth it!

$98 on ebay. I bought one a few days ago. It was $109 with tax and free shipping. It only takes 2 days to be delivered. It works great. Im using it in a 36-foot travel trailer in Michigan. I used 1/2 tank of fuel last right with it set on number 4 setting. Well worth the money.

The tire table works great! I have a zero breeze 3 three coming in with the heat pump on the new version. I also bought a Goal Zero yeti pro 4000 so I should have enough juice to try this out in the winter and summer. Let’s see how it goes.

@@WolfOverland yeah, JK, muffler in the way of do the rear screws, so difficult to get in there, a 1/4” socket with an extension and swivel barely does it, but at least it has a dipstick. There are 2 types of transmissions, the early JKs (2007-2011) the 42RLE and the NAG1 (2012-2018). I have 2 JKs 2010 Rubicon & 2016 75th Anniversary Edition and I have a JLU Rubicon too (2020), and heard “rumors” the filter is built into the pan, so a new pan must be ordered ?

@@TheSchmed yes. You have to order a new pan. That’s why I did this video. The aftermarket pan lets you have more fluid and cooling fins and a replaceable filter if you do drop the pan

@@WolfOverland yep, I’ll do that at 50k miles, right now at 14500 miles. so a while to go. One thing I do notice with the JLs, they seem to go into gear much harder than the JKs, it seems you must let it warm up for a minute or so until the idle drops below 1000RPM, or that shift into reverse is met with a bit of force. It’s my daughters rig and I told her when you first start it, wait a minute or so before you leave. I’m tempted to check it if it is a bit low from the factory, which I see some people did report. It uses that light blue ZF fluid ? I have some as I also have a Mazda CX-5 that uses it, but I am big on OEM only fluids for transmission service.

But it takes up space and I can see everything but the egt on the off road pages on the jeep. Get this for regen. It saved my butt on this video. I actually watch both of these videos 2 or 3 times each. I was going to ask what that hand held was in the other video, but you already provided it. Thanks so much. I am curious about Jeeps Warranty. I bought my 21 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Eco-Diesel June 2024, it had only 10k miles on it, Sarge Green and Diesel. Come on I had to get it. But in my research I thought Jeep had a 8 year warranty on the diesel equipment. Do you know if that’s true or not? Because this exhaust system is one thing I worry about.thanks again.

@@charlesharris6382 yes. You have longer powertrain warrenty. When you are out of your 3/36 bring it up there and purchase an extended warrenty. I got a lifetime powertrain warranty when I bought mine for about 2k

I noticed you said didn’t need LS additives in the fluid, but are using the ravenol LS oil. I’m assuming it’s ok to run slip additives in the diffs you just don’t have to? Thanks

We are good. We lost power for 2 days. Wife went to the beach I came up here to help a friend. I was able to throw the food in the fridge from my house to my jeep fridge. It was going to go bad without power anyway. In Clayton I went to go clear their driveway and that led to the neighbors driveway and running them some supplies. Having a winch and chainsaw was a major help. After a day of that I Got to go run recon on my favorite spots that I visit every 3 months or so while staying out of the way and helping when needed. I feel like I made a difference for a few family’s. Clayton had power but limited internet. A lot of people were escaping North Carolina.

@@SarahWilson-z6q 100% yes. The 392 is bad ass. But mpg is horrible. I get 20 highway 16 in 4low. And the low end crawl torque is insane. Will delete the emissions next year. It only gets better

It needed to be done. With the sharp increase is usage over the last several years, the trail was really taking a beating. As high-traffic as it is, it'll be rutted back out within a year or two.

I use the same vac/fill system you use and I use it to suck the fluid from the pan before I loosen the pan to drain it. This saves messes. I would put the magnets in the new pan even though it appears to be aluminum, it won't go anywhere and will attract small metal particles. I tried to order the pan and it's out of stock. Thanks.
