And I told them that I thought it was very good that they did not believe that, but it is very clear in the watch tower that that is what the governing body teaches and that they should look it up.

As a JW myself of nearly 40 yrs but faded, i believe the JW ministry of Truth has got the timing wrong of when the system is likely to end. I consider the heyday of the JWs to be the 1960-70's. This is because certain key prophetic interpretations were expected to be fulfilled - namely the "generation" that saw 1914 would see out the end of the system. I consider this to be the main lynch pin which held many JWs in place and the leadership maintained credibility. Once this time period passed the leadership were forced to review those "truths" and redefine what a generation leading to the current overlapping multi generation theory which has taken on an almost comical routine not unlike Abbot & Costello's baseball skit " who's on first, what's on second". I believe the JW leadership in their haste to be seen as being guided by Jehovah but NOT inspired (is there a difference??) have a loss of credibility but will not admit their error. The farcical situation of old revealed "truths" being wholly discarded for new revealed "truths" under the sly euphemism of "the light gets brighter" is much like watching a magician perform sleight of hand tricks. Regarding old truths later becoming false truths, the sad part is that anyone who was or is sceptical of such " truths" at the time, ran and still runs the risk of disfellowshipment & subsequent shunning, and yet later , those same "self evident" truths are relegated away to have been false and some were exceedingly false. The global mind control of the JW leadership on the JW followers is something to behold but perhaps not unique in its efficiency. On what time frame the system could be expected to wind up, i would draw the JWs attention to what Jesus said concerning those days being as the days of Noah where, during his preaching and proclamations, the people carried on with normal activities unaware of the impending end. How long did Noah preach before the destruction? It was about 120 years. So IF 1914 really was a prophetic year interms of the end of the gentile times in regards to the prophecies of Daniel and Revelation, then the Noah's day parallel would lead to about 2034. Given the way the world is heading in a politico geographic and climate sense, personally I would take note. The Noah's day parallel was directly spoken of by Jesus so I'm curious why the JW leadership over the years never focussed on that but were fixated by the "generational" 60-80 yrs post 1914.

The Reasoning Book was the first book I used after waking up after being disfellowshipped for the last time, twice before 18, once at 35, and it's now been 30 years. However, with raising my kids so far apart, 3 marriages, all abusive and addiction problems, I couldn't think straight until about 2008 when I divorced for the last time. So I'm now delving into whether the Organization is the Truth, or if there is just a reading of the heart. I am still an avid believer in Jehovah, his Son, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. It's just that the religion I grew up with wasn't the religion it is now!!! I first went to the meetings with my daughter a few years ago, and ran out crying, it was so different, the words to the songs were on a screen!!! Everyone was using a tablet for a Bible!!! Hi Paul, I subscribed to your channel on you tube today. My name is Monique, I am an elderly French lady living in Australia. I left the JWs in 1993 helped by a Christian lady. I lost my son and his family in it. I experienced a lot of fears after living them and I am still affected in my mind by their teachings. I am a Christian now and still battle with my beliefs because of the JWs. JWs don't demonstrate Christian love in cutting with their family. It hurt me very deeply to have lost my son and his family. I never recover from that. I am sure you understand what I am saying. In my heart I never left God which I call Him Yahweh. I know that JWs changed the Bible to suit their teachings and that's a no no for me. That is what keep me out of them. Please, don't leave God Paul. Take care, God bless you and your ministry. As for me, when I realized "the truth" was not interested in what was true but what we were to believe was true (until further notice) without question to it's Biblical or moral authentication, I found out that I was expendable. I had facts and real concerns. The Elders were not interested in this. They wanted to know my motives and why I would have this information and what I would do with it. From then on, it was the goal to remove me from being a member, even though being raised as a 3rd generation JW with a spotless record. However, knowing they had planned on entrapping me into a box as an "apostate" by my replies and statements to their loaded questions, I deflected by saying the following: Well Brother Elderton, after our meeting where we couldn't resolve my questions I prayerfully decided to take your advice and "wait on Jehovah" so I am going to do that. Thank you. Now, that statement "wait on Jehovah" is like pleading the 5th amendment in the JW world. It signals a resignation and a non threatening attitude of acceptance and confidentiality. If the Elders press you about your concerns or information, what you believe or not believe, you simply say: "It's OK Brother, I am leaving it in Jehovah's hands. That's what we are supposed to do right?" Then if possible, move to a new location. Fade away. Do not go to the new KH or let anyone local know who you are so your "service records" are not transfered to the new Hall and you will have to start all over again. When I "faded away" I washed my hands of the whole thing. I was done with it. Whenever the WBTS has to "adjust" an idea or doctrine that THEY dogmatically taught as "truth", they almost always deflect responsibility away from themselves by saying "SOME people held that..." or "some brothers thought..." A good example of this was the deflection of blame around the false hope of 1975 being the "most reasonable time" for God's seventh day of rest (the millennium of Christ's / God's kingdom) to start. When it failed, many left the Organization. Later, to explain this falling away, the WBTS said that it was due to "some" peoples false expectations during that time.

The belief that demons are literally everywhere, and can read your mind and affect your thinking. The thought that my parents would let me die rather than have a blood transfusion. The isolation from other kids.
