9:52 How to format the hard drive. I’ve got a Mac mini 2012 i5 4gb with 512gb HDD that’s been in cupboard for years. Started it up and slow as a slug (I’m talking 20+ seconds to open up an application slow). Watched this “How to” video and had confidence to try and upgrade myself. Purchase 2x 8gb ram and Samsung 1TB SDD. Formatting was biggest concern but Zach made all instructions (throughout) great. Does what I need it to do so thanks 👍

Love the video bro! Any recommendations on a "Data Management system" or "Media Management System" that could help with tagging or searching for photo or media files?
@AaronFagerstrom9 күн бұрын
I ordered a rackmount version for myself right away. After 4 years of using it at my church and experience using other consoles in this market section, there's no question - it's the best price/performance combo you can get right now

Really insane value for the price - I'm tempted to grab one for personal use as well haha

$650 for the stomp, $300 for the Atmos, might as well just grab a helix Lt, I’ve got patches with pads in every key
@johnmcvicker6728Ай бұрын
We have one. Moving to using Sunday keys instead. The team doesn’t have time to replace the stored pads often on the pedal. Yeah, they could but have limited time and resources.

Too pricey. An 8min looper with 12 banks can store all keys. Or even store your progressions. With all your effects pedal rev and delays

Can do it with an MP3 player or iPad app pretty easily. Benefit here is kick and go pedals, like a guitar rig.

Ive tried a different approach. Basically I have 3 subgroups. 1 for drums, 2 for instruments, and 3 for vocals. They all get dumped there into their respective subgroups and get some compression. Then they go into the LR. additionally, i have 3 mains that i use. 1 is the entire band which gets the peaks compressed, 2, a Main send used for spoken word mics and aux cables and such, then lastly 4 is my FB live send. My 3 subgroups then go to the FB Live, as well as the spoken word mics. Those mics get +5 dB

Was there any processing or samples done in the box before going to the mixer, or was this straight from the stage?? Everything sounds great!
@ZachBrownMedia2 ай бұрын
Straight from the stage! We do run a Pearl Mimic Pro for our drums though.. so those do sound more processed than an acoustic kit

Our church purchased a Black Magic Presenter HD to stream directly to our channel on KZbin. Our expectation was that we would be able to stream directly by pressing the On-air button. But unfortunately, we always have to plan in advance on KZbin studio (create, go live, schedule stream, later, schedule stream, etc.) which is a comprehensive way of working. Because there are 2 church services taking place right after each other, there is not much time to do this. It's already too difficult for a lot of the team. Our previous streaming device did work that way. Nowhere can I find how this can be done with the Webpresenter HD. Do you have a solution that a simple push of the on-air button wil start the stream?
@ZachBrownMedia3 ай бұрын
Yeah I’m not sure if there’s a way to do it directly from the WPHD.. but I’ve never tried to figure that out myself. We sent the encoder to to restream.io and from there restream will send it to FB and YT. We don’t need to configure anything in FB/YT before going live. The only thing we’ll do is change the description/title in restream. So when we go live on the WPHD, it automatically sends it to Fb/YT
@beamerteamberghuizen10113 ай бұрын
@@ZachBrownMedia Thank you for that answer, because now I know I need to contact Black Magic Design. I thought there would be a simpel trick to solve this problem!

@Gauseltown4 ай бұрын
I don't know what it is, but why are you killing the drums with gates and compressors and so much reverb? I bet they sound way better without. Go and stand behind the drummer, and listen to the set and how he wants it to sound and then go to the mixer and let them sound like they really do. Ever considered using Sub-Groups for mixing?
@ZachBrownMedia2 ай бұрын
If I went and stood behind the drummer I wouldn’t hear much.. it’s an electric kit

@Dukendrum4 ай бұрын
This might be a dumb question, but how do you have this setup, so that when the faders are moved at FOH … it doesn’t affect the Main2 livestream mix? We want our setup for FOH & Livestream to be completely separate. Thanks for your help.
@Gauseltown4 ай бұрын
I can highly recommend using subgroups to mix your show and adjust the volume on the PA system. For the livestream use a stereo matrix and just recreate the levels of the subgroups to that matrix. If you send the subgroups prefader to that matrix, the livestream mix is totally separate. And if you have to turn down let's say the guitar in the room, the guitar level will stay the same on the livestream matrix. Easy. Using subgroups will also make it easy, as you just have to deal with 5 or 6 faders for the whole band. Hope that helps.
