Thats very nice. I wonder can it be made actual scale like bigger? Is it weatherproof for outdoors? I would want a real scale one. Like 7-8 feet tall/wide.

Yes you can make any size feature that you’d like… and the weather for decades upon decades. Thanks for watching my video.

I’ve worked with aircrete before, however I’m just getting into the ‘light weight’ aggregate method and really appreciate your knowledge that you are sharing here! Thank you! As a question what would be an average size styrene aggregate size to use for concrete forms I plan to use for raised garden bed sides? Was planning on a 1/3 - 1/5 mix, however trying to determine the optimum size to get used styrofoam packaging broken down too?
@fauxrock4 күн бұрын
In re-grind foam there are typically three sizes, fine, medium, and large… styrofoam is originally made with a single bead formulation in other words, virgin Styrofoam beads. To me that’s fine size. Medium grind would be 2 to 3 beads and course or large would be 5 to 8 beads. This varies across the industry due to how the Styrofoam is ground after it was formed into something like sheets or cups or whatever. Depending on your piece that you’re trying to make you can experiment with the fine or medium or large size aggregate and or blend some of them together to make the optimum mix but experimentation is definitely in your future. Thanks for watching my video.

I remember many years ago, I took a class from Skyler. Somehow I ended up in his back yard and I noticed his pond looked like the one in the old videos my Uncle Mike had given me when He retired from being a plasterer. Long story short, It was he and his brother that filmed it for you. We all enjoyed sharing that moment together. Love your work. I loaned those videos to a coworker years ago and never got them back. I hope he ended up putting them to use. I really enjoyed seeing this again. Thank you for posting this. Brings back some very happy memories. Alan.

A quick question, do you put a protective product on the front box? If not, you have an idea for a product with a letter on the cardboard so that it does not deform or absorb water. Thank you for your response. great video Thanks.

Yes, I pre-spray an acrylic glue onto the cardboard so that it cannot absorb water as you placed the Cement coverage. Thanks for watching my video.

I love it - I'd love to know what material to use to coat the cardboard - I'm wanting to make rocks to go around my gardens - some big "boulder types" (not huge though) - and around my trees. And maybe make something just decorative. I'm an old granny - but hey, I'd love to try this. Really love what you made.

Well, thank you very much for your positive feedback. I really do appreciate you watching my video. As far as what I coded the cardboard with prior to applying the mud, it was just a simple acrylic glue
