One tip I found useful for this unit - keep one handle on one end of the strap then just adjust the other one to where you need it and just move the strap to position. Hopefully I explained it so it made sense. Enjoy your iso strap 👍

Decent. I prefer a one arm standing press with the band or bands anchored at the bottom of a door. More resistance with better strength gains. Can twist the body into the press for more explosive power and athleticism.

Agree with you that most people do not think about legs/leg exercises with rings. Always have to listen to your opinions as you come up with gems and overlooked exercises every so often. I would add sissy squats to your list of ring leg exercises. These can be tortuous in a good way.

Yeah, I do incorporate sissy squats, using the rings for balance (as I do with pistols, though, I’m not a fan of those since my mobility isn’t great, and I’m not a fan of unilateral exercises).

Not bad, decent workout. The squats and hip thrusts are good. I never got much out of the standing ab crunches and the calf raises looked more like an exercise in trying to keep your balance so I will pass on those as well. As far as abs are concerned, I like doing the crunches laying on the floor with the band anchored to the door and the other end around my chest and then crunch up. Good burn that way. The core rotations are good for the obliques and build athleticism. Good job 👍. Lots of different ways to use bands, you just scratched the surface. Liked the background music 🎶

Thanks! For some reason, the standing ab crunches (using bands) have always hit better for me than kneeling cable crunches, or with a band. Round the back just right, and I feel it even in my lower abs. I like the balance challenge with the calf raises as well. Closest I’ll get to using a BOSU thing anyway. 😁👍

Nice video, JP! In the positive or concentric phase, you can make the T2 as hard as you want AT EVERY INCH of the movement. I liked it better than bands for this reason. Bands are hardest near lockout and easier in the beginning. Lots of science says training at longer muscle lengths (beginning of the move) is better than training at the end of the move (lockout). Bands work the opposite. There are some other popular devices that focus on the positive phase, like MaxPro. IMO T2 is way better than MaxPro AND way cheaper. I got away from T2 when I realized the force multiplier that made the positive as hard as you want makes the negative for the resisting arm VERY light. We are stronger resisting or lowering than we are lifting, so the eccentric phase is hardly stimulated at all on T2. Ultimately, I went with the Synapse CCR over the T2. With Synapse, I can make the positive phase AND the negative phase as hard as I want at every inch of the movement. The "price" you pay for that is you only work one arm at a time up and down. But in reality, you are only working one arm at a time on the T2 as well (alternating positive phases while the other arm rests on the negative). You should check it out. It costs twice as much as T2, but there's a 30-day grace period where you can return it if you don't like it.
@TheologyGeekFitness
@TheologyGeekFitness 19 күн бұрын
I still plan on trying out the Synapse CCR, but the eccentric on the T2 is still predicated on the resistance given to it in bodyfght. I’ve never experienced “very light,” but that may be because I can push-pull with opposite limbs fairly decently. You are correct that the housing unit adds nothing to this on the eccentric though, but that’s okay for what I do. The thing about the CCR is that it is a one trick pony for a lot of money, and without two units and a second person (the way Keith Boutwell trains himself and others), it is all unilateral. The T2, on the other hand, can do several things, with the isokinetic being but one of them, which can be used in conjunction with suspension training, using the bungee, etc. So, I do understand your points, and they are certainly valid, but when I’m not already a fan of unilateral exercises, equipment costing that much (for what it does), and not being able to cover a lot of territory with one piece of kit, I just don’t get excited about the Synapse CCR they way other people do. This is certainly due to my preferences in how I train and nothing more. I do recognize that. The isokinetic thing is simply icing for me with the T2, and mostly used at the end of sets. It isn’t the main reason why I use it.
@ParkerBinion
@ParkerBinion 19 күн бұрын
@@TheologyGeekFitness Makes sense, JP. As for "very light" eccentric, see the pulley video from T2's channel. The force multiplier makes the 10 lb weight 21 lbs on the positive but 4.5 lbs on the negative. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nn7ap6uJl6t1j7s

Yeah, I did see that, and found it weird. But I’m not certain it decreases the resistance I’m giving it, or it may be the case that my resistance arm is compensating for any decrease from the unit itself. The latter is certainly possible.

I imagine just having an adjustable loop that's strong could be useful for various things like adjusting a non adjustable suspension trainer, maybe over a tree branch or swingset perhaps and maybe to hang a dumbbell for weighted pull ups or dips. If it's inexpensive enough and versatile enough it could justify itself. And sure maybe I should try isometrics...too...

The bent over row looks good man, but the chest flys don’t seem like they’d be optimal since the actual length of the band isn’t really changing throughout it, it stays the length of your arm because it’s anchored right by your shoulders. It looks like it’s just working out the extension of your arm statically. If you stood and gripped the bands and pulled them vertically out in front of you, you’d be recruiting more chest and under a load/resistance path more in line with the chest movements, imo. Either way, keep working hard man!
@TheologyGeekFitness
@TheologyGeekFitness Ай бұрын
I’ve tried anchoring it for flyes, but I didn’t see much of a difference. There’s enough tension on the band unanchored that I am mainly using my chest to bring my arms in. My arms barely move at all as they come to the center and beyond precisely because I’m not really using them to any significant degree at all. Hope that clarifies.
