Not sure on that exact configuration but I’m sure there is wiring info out there for it and it’s most likely rarely simple just as this swap is. It really just sounds scarier than it actually is.

Hey, I got a couple of questions on my end so I have a manual 2000 Jetta tdi and I managed to find a mint condition automatic golf with no engine or Tranny or Ecu. My plan is to just drop the manual engine and tranny into the car and run the manual Ecu. I also wanna run the manual engine harness now my thing is do I have to do any wiring for the clutch switch or should it just be plug and play?
@paulsperformance19 күн бұрын
It will need the wiring on the car that’s automatic as it won’t have those connectors in there. It would only be plug and play if both cars were manual

Try opening it with the car via the screen inside or inside the Tesla app. If that doesn’t work you can force it open with your hands but if none of the other things are opening it then it’s time for Tesla service

@paulsperformance24 күн бұрын
@ must be something wrong with the charger. I would try someone else’s if you ever get the chance to see if the button works with there’s or if they work at other Tesla chargers. That would rule out the car connection

It can cause rough running concerns and no starts. It’s possible to cause longer start if it’s reading incorrectly but there is a lot that can cause the issues you are describing so you will need to hook up to a scanner and see if you have any codes and see what the pids are showing for icp

Thinking of getting a tdi. I just want something reliable as what I’m used to.. I’ve been driving my gas tacoma for 9 years with the one problem being a u joint failure at 170k. Was a recall apparently lol. But I’m at 220k now and got it with 100k. My dad has a 13” 4.0 tacoma with 305k EVERYTHING is original. No timing chain no, no fluid changes other than the oil every 5-6k and it keeps running flawlessly despite having a constant 400 pounds in the back sometimes 3 full 55gallon drums in the bed! I think this Jetta fits the bill of being fun, reliable and cheap. I just am hoping they’re as good as everyone says like the Toyotas. I’d love to try out another brand Fosho
@paulsperformanceАй бұрын
I have had many Toyota pickups and they are reliable. The TDIs have given me the same outcome though with reliability. Other than maintenance I haven’t had any huge issues so far. Haven’t left me stranded and have saved a lot on fuel mileage. Only thing you need to watch for is getting one that isn’t already worn out lol
@oscarreyna9581Ай бұрын
So people can't reply to your response. Reasons why people watch KZbin and see how "products" work. This should of showed yet your statement saying we should upgrade to this parts. ?????
@paulsperformanceАй бұрын
Not sure why you wouldn’t be able to respond. Everyone watches KZbin for a different reasons. This video was done as my opinion and was not intended for a how to but more of an opinion/suggestion from a Ford Certified technician. I may get another 6.4 in one day and make a how to on these parts and I may not but if I do it will be titled as a How to video.

@thecyclops5783Ай бұрын
He claims it’s a auto ECM is the reason
@paulsperformanceАй бұрын
No if done correctly it should not have check engine. I have a video series of me doing a manual swap on one of these. I would scan and see what it’s saying. It may be unrelated to the swap but if it’s related to the swap then I would watch through my video and make sure everything is done as far as sensors and stuff.

do you do a flush of the coolant system before you replace? I've got to replace mine
@paulsperformanceАй бұрын
Yes you can do a pre flush and then once replaced do multiple flushes. I like to use the Cummins restore also or run a good degreaser in the system and then flush some more. Really depends on the state of the cooler failure. A lot of time it’s caught before it starts mixing oil in so it will take less flushing. I also don’t like to use gold coolant that came in then from ford. I usually replace with Red Heavy Duty Diesel coolant.
