God, DOS demos make me happy. Especially auto-play demos like this. These are 100% pure nostalgia to me and always a true delight.

man not gonna lie i was hoping to hear some japanese VA for space quest

It's cool that for Hero Quest/Quest for Glory (I wonder which title they translated) they took the time to redraw the signs into Japanese characters, even the animated title screen (but not the subtitle for some reason). It seems like that wasn't the norm looking at these others, but glad they took some effort for a great game.

Really interesting to see the differences, it funny that they censored the alien dissolving 🤣

Seeing Space Quest IV on a Japanese system makes me yearn for some voice acting, with perhaps Norio Wakamoto as the narrator.

Holy moly, the Gary Owens AI voice is spot on! This is great stuff! Though i have to admit, i prefer Jeff Bender as Roger (SQ4). Also, Dilandau3000 has forever spoiled me with his Star Trek inspired voices for these characters :D Nevertheless, what a great project!

I think the voice acting for Roger isn't as good. I understand the AI model used the SQ6 version of Roger Wilco. I much prefer the SQ4 voice actor for Roger.

I don't know, I don't agree with using AI to replicate the voices of the deceased.

This is interesting. It’s clearly AI, but it’s kind of cool it can replicate Gary Owens’ voice so well. Oddly enough, I imagined SQ 5 being narrated by Gary once in a daydream:

You know, in the abstract I wouldn't mind AI voices in a no-budget fan project... But stealing the voice of a dead person is creepy and disrespectful, no matter who's doing it.

I love this! That's fascinating that AI voice can replicate them like this, there are definitely some hiccups but I think this was a great experience.

Intonation is quite good... Especially the narrator. Voices are perfect... This is the best use case for AI, I think. Normally this would be very expensive but it's now possible for a modder or indie developer to use these tools to elevate their work to another level. Impressive.

Amazing! Makes it feel complete after all these years, as I was always disappointed that SQ5 didn't have him. Great use of AI as well.

I like these, though I think you could stand to use different music for different parts. Fatima, Shema and Marion are neck and neck for the lead I think. Hmm, who's left? There's the dryad dancing in QFG5 (and also in the Gnome and Dead Parrot Inns), Gabriel Knight's Hounfour, and his ridiculous improv dance during the Opera (and Magenta Moonbeam and the park fortune teller), the Wallflower dance in KQ6 (and Jollo dances at the end), there are some other dances available around the mushroom ring in QfG1, and I think an argument could be made for the Leopard men ritual in QfG3, Baba Yaga as a frog in QfG1, and the bandit's belly dancer in KQ5 (what you can see of her). I reckon there's a good chance someone dances in Mixed-up Mother Goose too.

Nice memorable moments, everything is even more epic set to KQ6 victory music.

I love this game, but here's some new content. Never thought of selling the merchants hearts desire, though I suppose that'll leave you wandering the bazaar for eternity. All that's missing here is showing how the grail rewards your churlish soul - I never actually carried on to the end after letting a knight down. I presume there's no consequence for having low wisdom at the end, but you gotta have soul. I was confused why you went all the way through the Labyrinth before showing the altered soul points, made me think we'd see some holy regicidal smiting!
