I just started this Supplement today, December 21, 2024. I’m curious to see if it will help with my hair skin and nails although my skin is fairly nice. My back is always in pain and I’m hoping that this will give me some relief. I was also just diagnosed with osteoporosis. I will take it for the next six months and document any changes and I will get let you know If there are any changes, I am also going to do some strength training as it is good for my osteoporosis because I do not want to take any of the medication the neurologist wants to Prescribe because of all the side effects. I’m also glad I found your video it was very helpful thank you

I'm only just on my second bottle of the Doctor's Best Astaxanthin (these come in a 90 ct./ 6 mg. softgels off Amazon) so it's far too soon for me to be able to report any improvements or differences it's made in such a short period of time. However, as a side note, I'm taking a very high dose of 24 mg per day, as an experiment to see if it improves inflammation or skin wrinkles, perhaps sleep quality?

Wow, lots of negativity in the comments in the feed, I apologise for my fellow humans. Thank you for the post, I’ve been using NAC for almost a year now, 1,200 mg daily. Reason being I was constantly catching covid or really bad cold/flu’s. It was constant and I was being flogged. I actually used something called augmented NAC early on, but it’s a bit expensive, so I’ve stuck with NAC and haven’t experienced a cold or flu since. Don’t know if it’s a coincidence or not, but I will continue NAC for sure. No noticeable negative side effects.

@@JTJaredTaylor No problem 😊Yes, seems it's a hereditary thing passed down a number of generations on my father's side. In my teens, after oral surgery, a specialist wanted to write a paper on my very rapid recovery from 4 wisdom teeth extractions in hospital. Later, in my 30s, I had more dental surgery to repair bone from a root abscess , the surgeon remarked that he had a difficult time stopping the incisions from sealing back together as he worked! This past summer I was tearing down an old shed and cut my face under the eye along to the side of my nose... My wife thought I needed stitches... Again, remarkably, with a few applications of castor oil, it was 95% gone in three days! Oddly I have very low platelets though I guess good clotting factor. Hope your post op goes well!

I've never had a hernia but I have had a procedure and even a video outlining recovery for procedures and operations could be very useful. I remember trying to prepare for it and doing lots of research, hearing things about not being able to "go" and buying fiber supplements from the US for example. (I am USAian but live in another country and found it hard to find some fiber supplements here.)
@JTJaredTaylor3 күн бұрын
Yes, those are some of the things that I experienced. Might be too much information but I literally didn't "go" for a week. I started taking a stool softener and it helped. Fortunately that kind of thing is more available here. Now, just over 2 weeks later things are back to normal and I no longer need it. Thanks for commenting.

I have taken Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides (Unflavored) for years - but I've decided to switch brands. I definitely had positive results at first. It then kind of plateau'd but I didn't think much of it. However, my friend gifted me some organic marine collagen from Portugal recently and it was insane how quickly my fingernails and hair started growing again. I think Vital Proteins has changed their formula over the years and it's not as high quality - I'm now exploring different brands.

I wish I could give you one. I stopped taking it when DoNotAge stopped selling it. You can still get it from a company called Timeline Nutrition and their product called Mitopure but it's more expensive. Also Timeline is owned by Nestle. The reason DoNotAge doesn't sell it is because Nestle threatened them with a lawsuit saying they owned the "effects" of Hyaluronic Acid. DoNotAge decided not to fight it. That's another reason I've held off. I'm all for supporting the little guy and I feel like they got bullied. Maybe I'll decide one day to just put that aside and buy it from them but for now I'm holding off.

@JTJaredTaylor7 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching and for your comment! Yes, I take 1 pill a day which is 200mg. I believe it's enough because in most of the studies I've seen (in humans) regarding Hyaluronic Acid they gave the subjects 200mg per day. For that reason, I feel like it's an optimal dose.

I'm so sorry you had to experience gut problems for a majority of your life. I'm in a similar situation where doctors don't know what's wrong, and just label it as IBS, and I refuse to believe it. although not nearly as severe as yours, taking probiotics has helped so so much. Have you ever been tested for Lyme disease? Seeing as you were very active outside. All your symptoms sound like this. Multiple Canadian celebrities' (like Justin Bieber) had 'depression' that didn't make any sense and the doctors couldn't figure out anything. After many years they found it was Lyme disease. Glad you are feeling better now!!

You could do either. Though spreading it across the day is likely (very slightly) better. I would recommend just doing what you are most likely able to stick do consistently. You can mix it with any liquid that you like. I most often mix it with a greens and berry shake. I've also mixed it with a zero sugar keto hot chocolate and have also tried it with herbal tea. All of the above are great for me. I have tried it with plain water but didn't like it much at all so I personally like to take it along with something that has some flavor.

@mrjorgedominguez14 күн бұрын
NAC is not a food supplement; it's a drug design for short term usage. There is no data for long term consumption. Any cell with a nucleus must maintain a balance between oxidation and reduction (redox), one of the functions of glutathione is to be an intracellular antioxidant. The proponents of NAC ignore the fact that not knowing how much antioxidant action is required, most probably NAC end up being a PRO-oxidant!!, which is equally BAD, i.e., not achieving a balance but tilting the balance in the opposite direction... The natural mechanism for the production of glutathione is to provide any cell with the precursors of glutathione so the cell decides how much glutathione to synthesize. The precursors are: glycine, glutamate, and cysteine. Cysteine must be in the form of CYSTINE which is a "dysulfide" amino acid containing two cysteine molecules connected by their sulfur atoms. These natural precursors are available in any mammalian (mother's) milk. This milk should be UNPASTEURIZED, otherwise the dysulfide bond is broken. A quick query to PERPLEXITY at PERPLEXITY.AI QUERY: in a REDOX environment, what happens when antioxidants increase too much. ANSWER: In a redox (reduction-oxidation) environment, an excessive increase in antioxidants can lead to a phenomenon known as reductive stress, which can be as harmful as oxidative stress. This imbalance can have several negative consequences on cellular functions and overall health. Reductive Stress When antioxidants are present in excessive amounts, they can disrupt the delicate balance between oxidation and reduction in cellular environments. This leads to a state of reductive stress, where the cellular environment becomes overly reduced. Reductive stress can be just as detrimental as oxidative stress, and has been linked to various health issues, including: 1)Cancer 2)Cardiomyopathy 3)Disruption of normal cellular functions Prooxidant Activity Paradoxically, high concentrations of antioxidants can cause them to act as prooxidants, promoting oxidative stress rather than alleviating it3. This occurs because: Antioxidants may react with transition metals, generating more reactive species They can interfere with the body's natural antioxidant defense systems. At high concentrations, some antioxidants can undergo autoxidation, producing reactive oxygen species (ROS). Disruption of Cellular Signaling Free radicals, in moderate amounts, play essential roles in cellular signaling and function. An overabundance of antioxidants can interfere with these processes by: 1)Neutralizing beneficial concentrations of ROS required for optimal cellular functioning 2)Disrupting cell-to-cell communication 3)Interfering with the metabolism and breakdown of drugs Impaired Adaptive Responses Excessive antioxidant intake can hinder the body's natural adaptive responses, particularly in the context of exercise: 1)It can prevent the activation of Nrf2, a key transcription factor involved in antioxidant defense. 2)High doses of antioxidants may impair exercise-induced adaptations, such as improvements in cardiorespiratory function. 3)Supplementation can interfere with mitochondrial biogenesis and muscle hypertrophy Increased Oxidative Damage Counterintuitively, high doses of antioxidants can sometimes lead to increased oxidative damage: 1)Studies have shown that vitamin E supplementation can increase lipid peroxidation following high-intensity resistance training 2)In some cases, antioxidant supplementation has been associated with increased plasma protein oxidation and lipid peroxidation in well-trained athletes. In conclusion, while antioxidants are essential for maintaining redox balance, excessive amounts can lead to reductive stress, prooxidant activity, disrupted cellular signaling, impaired adaptive responses, and even increased oxidative damage. This underscores the importance of maintaining a balanced redox environment and obtaining antioxidants primarily through a varied, nutrient-rich diet rather than high-dose supplements.
