Did they fix the wobble issue? I was going to get one but saw so many complaints and videos of that wobble
@theridewithlance
@theridewithlance 17 сағат бұрын
The way to fix it is by not installing a front rack and basket, and not to install a rear basket. Pannier bags are recommended if you need storage on the rear rack. This is for the step thru. I don't believe they had issues on the high step.

I haven't felt any wobble at all. They told me on the phone that they discovered the cargo baskets on the front and rear weren't compatible so they stopped including them. I am using their trunk bag and have had 20 plus pounds in it with no wobble. Excellent bike for cruising and some trails in my opinion.

Neither. Once they realized the cargo bins where the cause of the wobble on the step thru they stopped sending the bikes out with the cargo bins and offered a saddle type bag instead, which carries the weight lower. I can conform though, when I removed the cargo bins and racks, I have not had a single shack or weird frame wobble. I set this bike up for trail riding, so I was not going to leave the cargo bins and racks on anyways.

So many skeptics, I was one of them too. Then I converted a few friends and myself. I don't use them ALL the time but cruising around town, on tarmac, no issues. After 6 months of use, one of the sticky pads on mine (I bought them when they were in kickstarter, the first batch ever shipped), they became a little worn but the rest of the pads were ok. I bought a pack of pads for $5 bucks and put a new one on. Good as new and kept pedaling. Been a while no issues. Pads are still going strong, only had to replace that one pad. I paired the pedals with Five Ten shoes from Adidas and the shoes themselves have grip so it's grip on grip. It's still easy to take off but when your pressing down it's not moving. clipless wins in the long run but I got tired of spending hundreds on shoes just for cycling. Oh well. Everyone just do your own thing, ride what's comfortable. Me and the dermatologist are really happy no more bloody shins. LOL.

I have never encountered any of the issues you mention. Even the idea of putting my foot down in front of the pedal to then be scratched by it's unforgiving nature is something I can't fathom and have never, ever witnessed. I'll file this one under a solution looking for a problem, which does not exist, no matter how many times you say 'Freddy Kruger scratches'. As for your dramatic reconstruction of walking the bike, have you considered holding the bike by the saddle? Result: you stand further back and are not encumbered by the bikes protuberances. I suspect this pedal is designed more as compensation for some riders intellectual shortcomings. I'll say no more....

@@theridewithlance I'm sorry but actually I can speak for others here. My experiences are not based on my living a monastical life far from everyone else. I live in a multi million occupancy city.I have lived in several such cities across Europe. My commutes bring me into contact with hundreds of cyclists each day. Apart from my own observances - it's Summer, exposed legs for all to see soaking up the vitamin D and wholly free from 'pedal attack'. This is in conjunction with the very chatty nature of those who ride a similar bike to myself [strange isn't it, roadies talk to other roadies and ignore everyone else, mud people speak to other mud people, in their language and no-one else]. I don't recall anyone ever mentioning such and that's just the sort of subject to get people sharing 'experiences'....

Failing to acknowledge this I would be performing a disservice to anyone cognisant of their actions and the impending consequences. I don't pass judgement, I speak as I find. Here's the thing, I often see people walking their bikes - unequipped to fix a puncture, they're trundling off to the nearest bike shop. I just can't reconcile, relate to, or recall anyone referring to the issues you've pointed out. My shared experience, as I think about it, extends to stories passed on from non-cyclists, too. As a lycra clad type I am often called on for advice by non-cycling colleagues who are thinking of riding again. When they mention why they stopped it's usually that life moves on, or they're uncomfortable with traffic levels. Never a Freddy Kruger problem.

I got the same bike setup different though. That’s an awesome trail! The thing about the Summit is since it’s a hub drive you have to kinda stay ahead of it and maintain a higher speed to keep that Hub engaged. When you slow down at the beginning of a hill it’s a little harder to get it rolling up and the pa to kick in, where as a mid will give you torque faster. I have like 5 questions: 1. Should you shake or mush the Flat Out around to keep those kevlar fibers evenly dispersed, or do they not clump? 2. On my bottle, it refers to a stem removal tool somewhere on the bottle like maybe with the cap part you remove? 3. You didn't let our every last bit of air, just until the pressure evened out? 4. Do you know something I don't know as regards to PSI? My original Radrunner says 60psi. That sounds like a lot. Plus I'm 300lbs, so i max it out. Between your *personal* choice of 20psi, and my bikes tire saying 60psi, is there some sort of bike mechanics wisdom that thinks that number is flexible? Or does a guy in my situation HAVE TO use what it says on the tire? 5. You said instructions said half bag, 16oz, per fat tire. My bottle says 1/4 per bike tire. Thanks.
@theridewithlance
@theridewithlance 11 күн бұрын
1. The Flatout stay liquid in your tire. So when you ride it constantly coats the inside of the tube, so you dont need to worry about it clumping. 2.The valve stem tool comes with some bottle or bags, but not all. It should say in the description if it does, or you may have to order it separately. 3. When you remove the valve core from the valve stem, all air will flow out. 4. I have 26X4 inch fat tires. They have a PSI range of 5psi min, to 35 PSI max. For the type of riding I do, I found 20 psi works the best. No bike mechanics wisdom, just comfort level. So no, you dont have to use whats on the tire, just stay in the minimum and max range that fits your comfort level when riding. That is the instructions on the bags I used for a fat tire bike with 26 inch wheels. 20 inch wells would use less.
