Silly decision by TFL. Your videos are essentially giving them the best recruitment drive they could ever ask for. Proper own goal.

Surely it would make much more sense if each cockpit had a map on a tablet/screen showing all the light signals coming up to each station so the driver can anticipate as well as the phyiscal thing.

I used to go to a music school in Harrow and got the tube there from Central London on the Piccadilly line when I was 10 in 1980,and this took me back.I’d especially love the speed the train got along the overground suburban stretches,a friend would sometimes join me going home (he lived in Acton)and we’d swing on the hanging hand bobble thingys😅

You keep saying you are 4 mins late not the end of the world but it is for the passengers if they have to get a connecting train or need to be somewhere at a certain time
@dalecharmantravels8057Күн бұрын
With the tube passengers don’t know if the train is a few minutes late. Because a timetable is not published passengers turn up at a station and look at the board for the next train they need and it will say x amount of minutes. So that passenger will not know if that train is in time an hr late or what. Plus if 4 minutes makes the difference to getting some where then they need to leave earlier

Wishing you a Merry Christmas ,with a years supply of mints and SD cars and maybe better recording equipment. (DId you put the hint out to your family?) All the best for a great holiday. What speed limit do you go after Cockfosters
@dalecharmantravels8057Күн бұрын
45 mph is the maximum speed however after leaving Cockfosters it’s down hill so most do around 30-35 mph ( assuming all signals are green). Much more than that and you run the risk of not being able to stop at Oakwood

Merry Christmas Dale. Thank you so much for your effort for everything, I loved that you made so much tube vidoes that lasted from one end to another and rare movements and now are keeping us entertained after no longer being allowed to film them. I have some suggestions: try out the new ICE train direct service from Paris to Berlin if you can, you can also review the food scene in a country you visit

This is the first video I've seen from your channel and I like it. Thanks for making it. I've been interested in trains and train driving for many years. Regarding your bad back and sleep problems, I would suggest looking into Inclined Bed Therapy. Basically, it involves slightly raising the head end of your bed. I used to have chronic back problems but I discovered IBT and designed and built myself a bed. It was worth it. I still have to be careful, as I had an injury many years ago that was bad enough to cause me to become temporarily paralysed from the waist down, but otherwise I'm doing very well and rarely have back pain now.
@dalecharmantravels8057Күн бұрын
Thank you for the suggestion. I hurt my back when I was younger working in the building sites. Now it only plays up now and again. Those trains seats don’t help as they are not comfy. Have your self a great Christmas and Nee Year

Role on driverless trains. Stop the unions ruling the train services
@dalecharmantravels8057Күн бұрын
Recently TFL have said they it will never happen. The cost of the works to enable driverless trains would run in to 10s of billions of pounds per line. Plus trains would still need staff on board just not at the front. So it would have no impact on strikes and the such like.

@dalecharmantravels8057 Enjoy I was born a couple of generations too late for the opportunity to simply go to any of the key port cities like Southampton or Liverpool and be able to hop on an ocean liner that would take you anywhere in reasonable comfort and a price you could afford. I could quite happily spend an endless amount of time at sea, but the thought of being on an aircraft even in business for anything more than about 3 or 4 hours just doesn't appeal, I'm sure I'm not unique in this and there's probably plenty who've tackled it. But when I eventually tick off my bucket list item of a transatlantic voyage from New York back to Britain. I know that I will do the fun bit on the way back and fly out to get it over with and that will be a very serious test of just what I can cope with
