Hey buddy,I'll be there in September this year, any tips you can share, as I love spinning for mackerel and tuna? Cheers
@endlessseasfishing39914 күн бұрын
Hey mate if no visual fish feeding, try working bottom half of water column with metals.you can spin it up fast and let it flutter back down several times in 1 cast. Pick up mackeral and trevally love it aswell

@endlessseasfishing3997 ай бұрын
Hey Richo, the centre mount is a 475. So not much bigger than the quintrex runabout we had at 4.6m. It does handle and perform alot better tho, probably on a guaranteed glassy day we will head wider. But still in the market for a hard top plate boat at the moment around 6m. Would love a fisher maxi series or noble super vee

Hey interesting pods you have on the side of your boat, did you add them? Looks like they would add a bit of stability.
@endlessseasfishing3997 ай бұрын
Hey yes they do look abit wild i think. The previous owner had them installed. I believe theyre called a bouyancy collar. Its foam with alloy plate over it. It definately gives amazing stability at rest, and it also acts like a big reverse chine under way deflecting spray. Its very dry for a centre console. It also has good stability underway acting abit like trim tabs would do to keep the boat level underway

@endlessseasfishing39910 ай бұрын
Hi Downunderfulla, i like to bleed by cutting deep behind the pectoral/side fine on both sides. Found it bleeds much better than necking the fish. Cut the fillets off later and skin it. Cut the dark bloody meat out fown the middle. You will see the color difference. I cook it up like steak pan fry, well done, or medium rare and serve with some salad. Steak of the ocean!

Hey Tim, theyre really good eating. It would be pretty wild jumping into a school of them and also would have to be wary of sharks I reckon. Keep an eye for them jumping when your heading out to the islands. Alot of times I stumble across them in open wated on my way out somewhere and I always have a rod with a metal lure ready to cast in. Just in case
@Timbuctoo Жыл бұрын
@@endlessseasfishing399 we did that sort of spearfishing down south. Got a 25kg Southern Bluefin. You drive In front of the moving school, drop down some flashers then get in. When they swim past you hit them and hold on. We can give it a go if you like, if your boat has a boarding platform at the rear it would be easier.

I do use navionics app on my phone alot as a starting point. And then explore then with my sounder. Many times i find nothing. Even tho the charts show something. Learning fish behaviour is key also which I am trying to do more of. As the same spot doesnt always fire so learning when it does is key
