👍 .. good info, thanks. On Sunday, sitting in front of the TV, I re-greased my Leather Outdoor Boots and Gloves with a product I got at Decathlon. Two weeks ago, I waxed my '80's Mil Surplus German Bundeswehr 'Nato' Jacket and the Pooches two Winter Outdoor Jackets with the Varusteleka Brand Wax. We're both now good to go 😁. I got the Jacket with the Winter Inner Liner in the early '90's, used, but in very good condition. It is still going strong and has served me well to dste. I must take a look at some Winter Inner Soles. Thanks for sharing .. take care ..

Varusteleka also does recommend to mix their clear leather grease with birch tar - birch tar is the best for leather and wood treatment

Use some dubbin leather treatment to waterproof the outside too. I got mine for 6 dollars or so for treating baseball gloves, works a treat for boots.

Great idea. I have Lundhags boots and they have been using felt liners and double sock technology for a long time.
@RedBranchBushcraftАй бұрын
How do you find them? I'm thinking of heritage boots now, red wind or something else unlined leather

@@RedBranchBushcraft I have the Forest 2 boots and bought them as a bit of a hybrid for working around the farm and hiking. Really well made boot and if use them as Lundhags instruct, they work really well. - they are a shell boot. Take a bit of breaking in around the ankle, but are built to last and the Lundhags warranty and care system is great. The only issue was getting hold of them. I had to get them shipped to a relative in RoI - thanks BREXIT.

you can also use felt-inserts, a bit thinner, so less cushion, but works also great...
@RedBranchBushcraftАй бұрын
@@michaelkeller5008 I saw those , you could double them up
@michaelkeller5008Ай бұрын
@@RedBranchBushcraft yeah, but i'd save the space for realy good 2nd layer socks tbh... (in winter, i put on thin merino-socks, and double up on "Grenadier" wool-socks from Landy; thick, sheep-wool; for boots that are not as wide, thick merino - does better and can get cleaned more easily than the wool-inserts)

Looks like the wool insoles our mukluk's had (still have, not sure if same boots still issued). Picked up some Italian mukluks from Varusteleka last winter, pretty close and comfy.
