Wow!! Definitely a bullseye 🎯 Thank you for all of the sensitivity, compassion and love that you show each other and your viewers. And yes, I consider myself one of the "R&R Fam....or maybe one of the elders. Love y'all. I can relate to this topic on a personal basis as well as a professional one. So many gems in this episode.❤

I love this! Thank you for sharing. I have not been diagnosed with ADHD, but I’m pretty sure I am. I manage the executive functioning with calendars and task lists. The short term memory lapses I understand and my memory and brain fog increases during certain times of the month. I understand the tendency of impulsivity as well. I think my husband probably identifies with Julian. Lol It’s really interesting. Thank you for sharing! This makes me feel less alone and less weird. 🙏🏽

ADHD & Us is a really good book for a couple that is comprised of a neurotypical and a neurodivergent person. It has actionable steps, scenarios, etc.

Lissen!! I was just thinking yesterday, "I wish there were resources or podcasts for Black women with ADHD and money", and today, my good friend sent me a link to this. As a Black woman who has been recently diagnosed with ADHD in my 40's, I am grateful for this conversation. Thank you - ya''ll are out here doing God's work.

Thank you so very much! This was an extremely helpful podcast! As someone who is rarely still, who thrives on multi-tasking, and has not managed my money well (PAUSE) - kindness coupled with impulsivity has landed me … WELP!!!! While I recognize that I am neurodivergent, I am motivated by this podcast to get tested for ADHD! Muchas gracias, amigos! Great job, familia!

Thank you, thank you, thank you! Your honesty, transparency and vulnerability are very much appreciated in all of your discussions, but even more so in discussing this very important topic with tremendous care and sensitivity. Yes! A better understanding of neurodiversity would go a long way to helping families heal and better manage the generational challenges of undiagnosed dysfunctions that have crippled us for far too long! Again, thank you for how you presented this topic and for your recommendations for further research. My prayers are with you as you continue to discover and successfully navigate your future!

Wow. This hit home. It has taken a lot of years and heartache, but I've broken free of the guilt of being successful in my tech career and approaching FIRE in the next year. My challenge has been finding my "tribe" of people of people who are high earners, understand the social contracts often placed on "the one who made it" and are in pursuit FIRE. So, just know, we're imaginary friends.

Agreed. It’s not really being selfish because someone has to survive and thrive to continue the ethnic lineage. All cannot self destruct. Look up the seed library of Svalbard. I have decided to be a seed saver for my lineage and humanity ❤

As a parent of 2 sons who have ADHD, that last part hit home. Our oldest just graduated and it was ROUGH! The youngest is 11 and it’s ROUGH! We are always tinkering with the idea of meds and the teachers probably hate us for not deciding to give our youngest the meds. Either way, I appreciate your candidness and I’m glad you got the diagnosis. That certainly helps to explain things.

It’s not easy to build these types of viable partnerships. As you age, it is even more important to thoroughly vet who you allow in your life. We have truly lost the art of partnership in 2024. I always admired how you as a couple are on the same page. I pray others find their own productive partnerships, whether romantic, familial, or platonic. I also encourage people to not just partner with anybody to not be alone, the partnership selection process is vital.

The “family contract” for me is another name for the “Black Tax”…it can be expensive, but it is very necessary. Julian’s characterization of this unwritten responsibility as “running in place” sums it all up!😥

This is such an important topic. I was diagnosed with ADHD in my mid 20s but it’s affected my life more deeply recently. Kudos to you for sharing your truth. We, as adults, need to be more attentive to our mental health needs. I recently started therapy and it has been very beneficial in helping me cope with the struggles and stressors in my daily life. We must strive to “put our oxygen masks on first” before we endeavor to assist those around us.🌹

I’m a single person, so after maxing my Roth and 457b, there’s not alot left to send to a taxable account. I am able to put about $50-$100 during most months. I say a little is better than nothing there and it’s accessible if a super emergency pops up.
