The article is missing the link although I found it on the website. The more I watch your videos the more I'm convinced to get a blade. I ride a CB500X at home in the USA and while I love the bike doesnt seem appealing for the kind of pace I'd want to travel Vietnam at.

I think for HCM to Hanoi trip the CB 500x is good. But for all the stuff around or above Hanoi, then XR or Blade is a better choice.

Hey mate been watching your videos and looking at your website. Looking at doing a hcm to Hanoi trip around August this year. Just wondering if it’s a stupid idea to go solo or if there’s groups I can message to get a crew together? I’ve got about 5 years dirt bike/ road experience and would bring a safety beacon with me. Just looking for options at the moment. Thanks

Alot of people do it solo and if you want to meet people then you will. It is a very popular thing to do. We have a discord channel for meetup that a few people use. But overall I would just show up and meet people if you want to. I wouldn't worry about doing it in advance.

Do motorcycle sat navs perform well in Vietnam? e.g. would a TomTom Rider or a Garmin be a good alternative for using your phone as navigation? When I look on my TomTom planner, it does seem to suffer from the same optimism regarding travel times as Google Maps.

Garmin maps are very difficult to find for Vietnam. I bought a Garmin Zumo xt and instantly sold it because it was such trash. I won't buy a Garmin product again and I am amazed people actually like these things. Tomtom, no idea. In the end, phones are just too good now. I don't think there is any GPS device that can compete with a phone, providing you know how to use the phone. I have a few mapping based tutorials and videos on this channel related to phones. Not many people know how to use the phone properly for mapping, but it is well worth figuring out.
