Jackson had to sit out a year, so this is his second year to show everyone what he’s got. Payton is a mid 3rd round player, because of his attitude. Get rid of the bad apples

It always starts with the o-line. Until we spend the money and get a top 10 line, you could have a great qb and running backs, but without the line you don’t have a chance to succeed

Payton took a paycheck for THAT performance. Every single paid player is a man and eligible for criticism. I mean everyone can be criticized, but players that take money from schools and hundreds if not thousands of fans don't need to be "protected" from righteous criticism. I don't think it was Payton, but there was some piece of it that went on a Caribbean cruise/trip during the season. He and anyone with him should have had all payment stopped. I can't stand that kind of attitude DURING THE SEASON when you're supposed to be working, climbing, getting better. At no point in the season should any of our players been taking a vacation.

Saw he was supposed to visit FSU, but I haven't heard anything since. If they take Castellanos, it would be hard to see that happening. I doubt either wants to come in as a backup. They would have to pay starter money for both, and that puts us with 5 QBs on the roster, not including DJ. I think it really depends on what happens with Castellanos.

Luke may be testing the waters out there…if he can’t get what he thinks he’s worth he may be back. DJU NEEDS TO GO!!! If Mike brings him back he has essentially put one foot out the door…

He could definitely do that, but based on the wording on his graphic, it sounds like it's a scheme/development issue. I can understand that because Gus doesn't have a great history with QBs and putting them in the league. I also agree about DJU. There's no way I'd pay him to stay unless it was for cheap and as a backup... even then, idk.

Appreciate that!! That's actually hard to answer because he was just an analyst up until 2022, and they weren't allowed to do hands-on coaching back then, so how much blame does he get for the first batch of washouts? Those were technically under Dillingham. Tokarz took over as QB coach in 2022 when Jordan took off and then again in 2023. Last year was hard to judge because DJU kinda was what he was, and everything else was so bad. I haven't seen that he won't be retained, but I know Gus typically coaches QBs. Go Noles!!

Still don't know why Luke Kromenhoek thinks he deserves even 3 figures for a third-string QB on a 2-10 year.. IDGAF how much money he "really" wanted, he wasn't good, regardless of true freshman status. Five fumbles against UF when you couldn't afford more than one turnover in that game. There's a reason he was behind Uiagalelei and Glenn. Entitled teenagers make poor players and poorer decisions. I know I sound like an old man, but I still cannot stand that these college players know NOTHING of loyalty. Most of them treat logos, commitments, and contracts like stickers you can exchange/discard whenever you get bored. I'm not sure if NIL or the no-wait transfer portal is worse. The fact that they came at about the same time really hurt the soul of the sport. FSU deserves better, fans deserve better, and college football deserves better.

I'm with you, man. He definitely wouldn't be my first choice when there's better QBs available. We just have to trust that he will work with Gus' system for at least one year.

The positives you listed about Castellanos are not really good positives. They're mediocre at best.

Well, he's essentially a running back with an arm, so there's only so much upside. However, he fits the system, the OC is familiar with him, his passing did improve, and he's mobile. We're not saying he's Jameis or Jordan, but if he's gonna be our guy, we wanted to name some pros and cons.

Mostly the fact that he is mobile is what I meant. In fairness, our QBs had to run for their life every play because pressure was coming from every direction. Even a decent OL should help with that.

He was supposed to take a visit, but I haven't heard much since that news dropped. My guess is they will try to get a commitment from Castellanos while he's still on campus if everything seems mutually good. If he does commit, it would be hard to see them paying for another transfer QB, and they would have 4 scholarship QBs (5 pending whatever happens with DJU) and Trever Jackson. Long story short, I think it depends on what happens with TC.

I definitely agree. I don't think you could have started him in 2025, being as desperate to win as we are. It's not good for the long-term, but they have time to find more QBs.

We need the offensive line coach! A good receiver coach, GREAT linebacker coach and maybe a Chris Weinke as a QB COACH. I know Gus likes coaching qbs but I don’t want them having to do anything, but takes after the whole offense and turn it around! This is a one time deal for Coach Norvell, he’s betting his job on it. I like Norvell, but the team needs to improve dramatically

I think everybody makes too much of a big deal about Norvell losing recruits. I look at this way, Norvell never had the recruits in the first place, and they didn't even sign anything, so how can Norvell lose them? On the topic of recruits, the recruits that truly want to play for FSU actually committed to the program. So please stop with Norvell losing these recruits he never had in the first place. Every year, it's the same thing he lost this recruit, he lost that recruit. Norvell got the young men who wanted to play for him, and they all signed putting ink to paper. GO NOLES!!
