I have a BMW GS - excellent for touring around Europe with my wife. However, it is TALL. I am 182 and fit but I get the shivers every time I need to handle it. Once it moves, then it's great. Next week I am going to pick up my new CRF300L. it will be for solo riding of course but I am really looking fwd to put my butt on it.

Hi there, please help: is this byke fine for city ride in an italian city with some traffic jam? I would use from time to time with a pillon only for less than 6 km distance. Love the style and the chance to enjoy green forests and blue sea at the weekend ;) Thank you super very much ;)
@MotorcyclesOffroad
@MotorcyclesOffroad 7 күн бұрын
@andreacasula5109 I would say the stock suspension is a little soft for a Pillion. But it can be done, the rally version is much better for road riding with irs large fuel capacity, bigger brakes, brighter lights, and a bit harder suspension.

Very good video, you have a good grasp of the dual sport market/bikes. But it's hard to make a video like this without slipping up once. The XT 225 has a wide range six speed transmission, and that makes it a great bike. The XT 250 that replaced it only has a 5-speed transmission. I kept the XT 225.

My riding buddies and I ride KTM/Husky, Beta,BMW dual sport and adventure bikes. 7 of us just did an 8 day mountain tour in northern Vietnam. We rode CRF 300Ls. We had a TOTAL blast. It’s so much more fun over-riding a slow bike than under-riding a fast bike. There were sections on the road and off-road where we left our guide behind cuz we were having so much fun. I have a 300 Rally in the Philippines which is perfect cuz I ride it like I do off-road but I don’t have to worry about getting a ticket. I’m modding it up with 550 Performance so it’s gonna be a blast. One comment: my 890 feels just like my 500…except when I have to pick it up.

@ I saw the video where the clutch was gone… I don’t think it had anything to do with dropping the motorcycle, also she had problems with abs sensors, it was blinking all the time. I have been following her quite closely. My point more features mean more things that could go wrong… unlike the DRZ
@MotorcyclesOffroad
@MotorcyclesOffroad 8 күн бұрын
@nalinpremaratna925 I think the clutch issue was in Africa so that would have been after 20,000km or something crazy like that. But yeah and bike in that think mud would destroy the clutch.

I had a crf250l, and it was top-heavy and horrible on the trail. I purchased crf300l, and the top-heavy feel is gone. I can lean this bike way over without feeling like it will fall. The crf300l is a lot more agile, and the shorter gearing ratio is great.

@beamngaddict2104 you could break them like any other bike but also you can buy unbreakable items. Like mirrors on 1" ball mounts like "double take mirrors" and sping supported indicators.

Excellent unbiased review. I'm an experienced rider (50 years) having trialled and raced. I'm looking to get back into dual sport after many years out and feel that the lighter bike will be for me, especially being based in the UK countryside, where straight and fast roads are scarce. I'd probably go for the Rally for the longer tank range. Thank you.

Park both the CRF and the DR for 10 years and which one will have a better chance of getting it to run? FI is great and very reliable but nothing beats a gravity fed carburetor for roadside repairs. I always think long term ownership and the simpler it is the better.

I'm a light weight guy. I'm 140 lbs and I wounder if the Honda would be fine with the stock suspension. I had a 2006 KLX 250 and the suspension was fine but it lack enough power to lift the front wheel over dips and ruts. I wish I could ride both before I buy one.

I have a 2009 KLX 250S and always thought there is something missing at high RPM, especially after 4th gear. Many people said there is a hidden programme that is unleashed if you disconnect and bridge the clutch switch at the handle bar. Did it and the bike went from 137Km/h top speed to 157Km/h (!!!!!!). Both in slight inclination. The difference is huge because now i could drive always in peak power or one gear down. Imagine what a custom ECU could do with a full exhaust. Consumption went 50% up though, marginally 100km before the light goes no lol.
