One of the best wing foil channel over all! Can I ask you how much difference you could find as beginner/intermediate to upgrade to carbon mast? Insane expensive, do you think it makes sense in order to sail and have a progress fun with Axis set?
@kyriakosgiakoumaroswingandwind15 күн бұрын
@@marematto8231 hey! Thank you for the kind words! You dont need a carbon mast at your level (if ever to be honest). Also Axis alu 19mm masts are very nice masts so you can stick with them for as long as you like. I would suggest looking into the carbon masts when you are very high level and are pushing limits and when you use the biggest (by wing span) front wings from Axis. Even these cases are optional of course but those are the only two i would push for a carbon mast. At your current level most likely you will not feel it as a ride changing alteration so save your money and play around with the rest of your setup! The ALU masts are great

@kyriakosgiakoumaroswingandwind19 күн бұрын
@@bmrbca3658 cant say for sure especially because i haven’t used one! But just looking at photos of it I would say its for carving. I guess by doing that shape they are trying to also minimise the wingspan and taper the tips as much as possible. Would give the manoeuvrability of a smaller wing with added benefits of a larger wing? Maybe thats the idea. As I said it’s all a guess just by looking at photos! But to be completely honest it looks like an unnecessary shape to me. At least for achieving the previously mentioned. Of course they must know something we dont do, right?

Excellent video. Riding the v2 939 on waves with pro 350 on head high waves. What size skinny would you recommend? 150lbs. Crazy short.
@kyriakosgiakoumaroswingandwind20 күн бұрын
Love the setup! I use nearly the same as I use crazyshort, 939 V2 and a skinny 360. I would like to try a smaller skinny on it as well as I think it would work nicer for waves. Maybe the skinny 358/35 (as I am a big guy not sure about going smaller). On a different note, if you tend to pump a lot I can also recommend trying the new updated fuselages as they do make a difference in the pump. For small waves that involve more gliding and pumping I switched to a new ultrashort (with the skinnies tail) and it helped a lot. Of course I am talking details as the setup you mentioned is already amazing but I would def recommend switching to a skinny for the ART V2s! Keep shredding!

@@candych0754 hi! Its hard for me to compare because i have limited experience on the ARTpros. We dont use them at my homespot because i find that they dont react very well to choppy waters. I prefer the take off on the ART V2 because of the control but I think the 1201 can start easier due to size alone. My minimum wind I have used the 999 with a 6m is 7-8 knots and I weigh 100kg To simplify the ART pro can most likely give you more in terms of glide and speed but the ART V2 is just a much easier and user friendly foil. Not really as long as you are comfortable throwing it around! Usually most freestylers go for masts 85-95 (any longer is starting to get in the way for aerial freestyle) but can also be shorter. Board the smaller the better for the actual rotation but to get the best all around performance you want something you can start easily, doesnt sink straight under if your landing is sketchy but is short enough to feel easy to move around. Depending on your size I would recommend 50-85lt and 5’0 and under. And of course wing the smaller the better

I use spitfires still when I incorporate jumps and freestyle into my session or when it’s super messy conditions. Also for the rear wings i use the progressive with my spitfires but have changed to skinny a few times and it does speed up the foil, so that would work for you as well.
