Does waiting the few weeks to let the paint dry make the controllers not feel slightly sticky? I've spray painted other things and had this happen. Also did you sand after primer and after a few coats to smooth it down?

You could print hdpe spreaders for the superglue, it’s a bit bad for warping but a long flat spreader should be ok.

How did you get all the support material out of the cracks? I printed mine standing up with normal supports (probably should have used tree supports). And there is support material all through the cracks and it is not easy to get out of the cracks. Don't really want to do another 19 hour print.
@make432Ай бұрын
We did have this issues when we initially tried printing the hammer in FDM. We ended up printing in Resin - the supports came out much easier. I would think that using tree supports on an FDM printer might help though!
@craigyoung4068Ай бұрын
@@make432 thanks. Yeah I think I checked the print time for tree support and it was a lot longer.

The site to purchases these says recommend a resin printer. FDM printers wouldn’t be able to print this? I don’t see any crazy small details that would prevent it…?
@make432Ай бұрын
In our testing we found that FDM printers could not reliable print this design (due to details and very thin parts). We highly recommend using a resin printer for this particular design.

Use a brush with the color you taped over, white in your case. The paint is more likely to build up in those corners and fill the gaps in the tape. Leaves a nice sharp line ever time.

I would've left the front grille detachable with magnets. There's a star wars novel called "Death Troopers" where stormtroopers and imperial officers are turned into zombies from an unknown virus. The troopers' helmets have the front grille and chin section ripped out so the zombies can feed
