Thank you for the useful contents. I've got a RZ67 II Pro with a PhaseOne 30+ digital back for M645 mount. I picked up an adapter from LensMod for $200 and everything's been working smoothly except for two-shot mode. I've tried everything I can think of for single shot mode, but I can't figure it out. Is there any way to set the P30+ for single shot?"

I was wondering how you use the polaroid "negative"? Very interested in trying new things. I have two backs for the camera but haven't been able to get it to work--I think the film is too old.

Its 2024 when I'm watching this, and now basically impossible to shoot with an RB or RZ67 digitally, unless you want to shoot with a Hasselblad back. The adaptors for any leaf/phase back are simply impossible to get, and the very few that are available, are being sold by vultures for $3k - absolutely insane. Why on earth no third party has jumped on making these is bonkers. Someone would make a fortune making these adaptor plates. So yeah. WELL DONE to all of you who got a plate when these were still all being manufactured and didn't cost the price of a car. To the rest of us mortals, we are stuck with film. Also, wtf is the point of the pro iiD, if we STILL are required to buy this stupid adaptor! It's beyond infuriating that the fuggen camera was "designed" with digital backs in mind, yet they didnt bloody ship them with the adapter OR have some sort of design element built into the camera that accommodates any digital back. It seems like the only advantage of getting the pro iiD over the pro ii is simply that you don't need a cable. Whoopie do Mamiya! Great video and thanks, really loving watching your channel and going through all this, but it really feels like a dead end now, and ALL because of the stupid bit of plastic that is the adapter plate. A truly ridiculous situation in all honesty but it is what it is. If I were you, Id try and hook up with some clever folks in Tokyo and start making some ;-) hint

Coming here in 2024 as I am considering selling my Nikon D800 kit and getting a RZ67 Pro IID II D, so I was looking at Digital Backs for them. Everything was going great, and I had pretty much settled on getting the camera plus an IQ140 back, but THEN went to find an adaptor plate....(a HX701) and average price is €2000. Absolute INSANITY. Totally batshit. Two fuggen grand for an adaptor. Urgh. So yeah, that's the end of my plans. Full frame it remains for me. Thanks universe and money grabbing leeches.

Hello Julio and congrats for another amazing and very informative video, I’m about to receive my RZ67 Pro II next week, which I plan to shoot with my P45+ (on a two shutter configuration for now, since it will need to be awaken at every shot). I have a question about metering: I will use the AE finder, but since in theory I won’t have any way to tell the camera the ISO used by the back since I’ll have only the synch cable, will be a light meter mandatory to get the correct exposure right?

Many of the folks who initially loved the RZ, had fatal failures of the camera and now have gone to RB's. They weigh exactly the same but the RB is completely mechanical. Use pro sd backs and get reliability from light leaks. KL glass is newer and fantastic. Drop in a RickOleson focusing screen with split prism and the camera is a dream.

@RyuuzakiJulio
@RyuuzakiJulio 11 ай бұрын
@@ignatprokhoropchyuck4652 I assume your question is, do you need an adapter plate to use a digital back on the PROIID. Yes. The "D" part just enables some basic communication between the camera and back. So the connectors exist. However the PRO IID is primarily designed to be used with normal 6x7 film backs, which have a much larger area than any digital back, and no digital back comes in a format that fits the 6x7 mount of the RZ67. Adapter will be needed in II and IID. The IID will only save you the need of a X-Sync cable between the lens and digital back but ONLY if you have the HX-701.

Should i do have an adapter plate to connect this RZ cameras? I 've seen they wrote for 67iiD don't need any adapters. They are right or wrong? where then i get this if it is necessary? Thank you. Thanks to your videos, I’ve gone down the deep rabbit hole of digital backs. I’ve landed on an RZ67 pro, non II or IID. I have an existing Hasselblad H4X and 500CM. I messed around with the CFVII back on my 500CM and hated it. I just couldn’t get used to the massive crop. I then got a good deal on a P30 for my H4X, then a P25+. Fast forward to now, I got a sweet deal trading my CFV back for an IQ280, in H mount though, so I had an adapter 3D printed for RZ. The RZ system has totally blown my mind. The 140 macro lens alone, just amazing. So I’ve been using my P series backs, P30 and P45+ converted to infrared. The only cable I’m using is the phase one sync cable. I could easily use my H4X with the more modern lenses but using the rack and pinion focus system of the RZ67, to me has been more of the sweet spot. Thanks for shedding light on digital backs.

Mine has recently developed a weird error, when it shoot, it fires but it seems to not complete the exposure then gives a flashing orange warning light and solid beep sound for as long as I keep the shutter pressed. It started while I was working a few days ago and now I’m testing it on M mode with no film in. Many different lenses and many different backs and many different batteries, always the same weird error. Any ideas ?

yes, back is off, as for this to work (manual says how), you treat this like a LF camera, lens is the trigger, flash on the back, but also with this connection the "latency" setting comes into effect, how long to wait for a signal to fire, some backs use the shutter button on the back (e-shutter), others use a long latency mode, where you use the Body shutter, and the long delay is the signal time to get to the back, short is for XF/XT cameras, or the hasselblad H system, where connections are on the back via internal board circuitry inside the body, a lot faster than PC cables.

thx for the clip, it´s really interesting and useful. Having enough experience in FX and Z, I would like to switch to medium format again and I am looking for a body which can be used both analog and digital. I know it´s possible with most of the Hasselblads, but the price... So at last my question, can you use the digital back only with the RZ67 pro or also with the "normal" RZ 67? Thanks for you answer, regards Michael

hello I need your advice please! I need to be able to correctly connect a Mamiya RZ67 Pro II to the IQ250 backup, and know how to set this backup, I already have it mounted with the HX701 plate at your recommendation in a video, how could I contact you? Thank you
@RyuuzakiJulio
@RyuuzakiJulio Жыл бұрын
Hi, you sound like you got pretty much all you need, is the IQ250 an M mount? It could be H or V or even C type mount. The HX701 is an M mount adapter. If you do have the M mount Digital Back and is able to fit in the HX701, then I think in the settings you can setup the camera type to be RZ67 and not Pro IID (Pro IID requires the camera connectors to send signals to the digital back) Finally there is a special cable from Phase One that connects to the lens, this cable is multi-pin on the digital back side, and a normal PC/Sync for the lens. This will allow you to trigger your photos with the camera trigger system.
