He doesn't mind it either. That's how he treats his daughter and his wife, gifts and money.

Every time she was on screen she had the same spoiled, pretentious, arrogant know it all attitude. She even tricked her room mate to thinking she mite have unalived herself but taking a cutter from the room just because she couldn't get over seeing that homeless woman, and telling her to see a physiatrist and take drugs as a cope, like "you being sad that some lives a absolutely miserable life? pah who cares just get over it". I'm shocked Meadow doesn't get the fraction of hate she deserves.

I think when it came to Sonya, and correct if I'm wrong because I haven't watched Sopranos in a while, but I think it wasn't out of left field she was introduced. Tony meets her shortly or relatively short, after Christopher's death and she did used to see Chris on the side. I think Tony is being eaten up by the guilt of Christopher and his going to see her is a way of him covertly trying to connect with a thing in Christopher's life, because isn't with her that he trips acid or something in the desert? Then yells at the top of his lungs that he did it, admitting his guilt and somewhat confronting it? I think she represents the closest thing to Christopher that Tony is gonna find, in order to gain closure.
