Does anyone else find it strange that Aule compares his relationship with Eru like that of a child with his father as though such relationships already exist?

I really appreciate you showing maps and portraits. It makes the story much easier to follow, with it's preponderance of names.

This is an amazing job I just have one request… that you write the names on the screen of people, places or beings so we can see how they’re written 🙂

I honestly don't think that people realise that middle earth is only one part of a much larger world. Middle Earth is just one continent, in the same way that the European continent is referred to now. It is unfortunate, because so many more stories could be made regarding the world that Tolkien created. From what I can make of it, this entire work, is a remake, a reimaging of real myths, like King Arthur and his knights, and Atlantis, all roped together into a new story.

Eonwe is such a coward lol, he was so scared to do his job and hold him accountable himself that he actually sat there and told Morgoth’s right hand to just escort himself back to Valinor at his own leisure 🤦🏻♂️

What a sad chapter. I love the Silmarillion, but it breaks my heart every time I read it. Silmarillion and Children of Hurin just devastate me. Thank you for these audios. I’m typing this with tears streaming down my face. Again, Thank You!

Well hello my friend, Im so glad to come back and see how this has been gathering momentum. I was just thinking how this is much better use of your brain and time than say watching the rings of power, which honestly feels more like satire or a comical adaptation of Tolkien´s work. I remember coming upon your videos as I searched for Martin´s Shaw audiobook to accompany my reading, when you only had this and maybe Vlaquenta uploaded. I loved your videos so much because they saved me effort hehe, as when reading The Silmarillion I always have like maps of middle earth oppened, geneaologies, and all sorts of supportive materials to keep up and remember all the content being discussed in the text. Anyways, good stuff man, i look forward to rewatching your videos now that the whole Silmarillion is up, cheers.

I believe that this story about a hapless chap and a psy-op dragon and some accidential incest is the one that is most influenced by The Kalevala (runes 31 through 36, the Kullervo cycle).

It was a siege. The siege of Angband which lasted for centuries, broken here. There was no safety while Morgoth Bauglir labored in the depths of Angband. The oath of Feanor drove them from Valinor. Fingolfin grudgingly followed his older brother into exile. Feanor once held him at swordpoint in Valinor itself. Have you read the Silmarillion?

Noldor brothers might have started off with that bloody in the exile, but now they cleaned up those Dark forces. Of course, having so many skirmishes with the Orcs made them so good at fighting them. We laso see that Manweh was the one stationing Eagles everywhere, even establishing a bird hierarchy. Seeing a young Glaurung is interesting; it makes it cool to see a lizard breathing fire, retreating from arrows, then come back as a planetary threat.
