This is one of the most interesting things I've seen in a while. I'm late on this one, I know, but I was scrolling down your list of videos for something interesting that I've not seen before...and I found this. Nice one; you, Steve1989, Oldsmoky, you guys really do know how to entertain and educate at the same time. Not many can pull that off.

For what it's worth, you're missed Gundog. I don't know you other than these vids but your authentic passion and joy for these rations really shines through in all your vids! I would love to see you do a sort of "Ration Revisit" series where you go back with current versions of some of your favorite past rations and compare what's changed, what's gotten better/worse, etc and then conclude on whether it's still a fav. When/if you decide to return, this viewer will be there. Thanks for all the fun!

What i would do is put the bullion powder in my cup with the chicken and hot water and crumble the crackers make it into a soup everything else snack time

I like that they were still using cans in 2014. Cheaper and easier to source. Needs at least an esbit stove to heat up, but we heat up water for tea/coffee anyway.

Very similar to the Canadian IMPs from 1979. We had more food though. Not just honey but peanut butter and jam in little yellow tubes. Also, coffee and creamer and hot chocolate. Plius a can opener. We NEVER ate our stuff cold.

Never heard of Indian soldiers having MRE 🤣🤣. Honestly i only know that they carry roti and some curry for the roti infact i have even sat and eaten with them but this MRE is something i have never seen or heard before. Infact i believe most of the soldiers don't even know what MRE is.

The emergency blanket works well as a reflector for your stove, to keep wind off fire or your eating area like an emergency tent/tarp. All you need is twine and a nearby tree.

Had them, in the first MREs, they came with backed beans. Only way to eat the was to make a small fire and burn them black
