Thank you so much for this video! I’ve been wanting to get the hard drive out since my iMac died, and this was extremely helpful!

Mine has the same problem. Took it apart, and found there is corrosion and rust around the motor. Looks like the rubber seal at the top failed. It's amazing the thing actually even still turns on. Don't think there is any fixing this, especially since it's probably at least 5 years old. Sucks though.

That tiny little M2 screw at the front by the brush attachment often comes loose from use and the toothbrush becomes noisy and the brush will not vibrate. Clean the threads, use plenty of RED LocTite on those threads, re-tighten and reassemble. You should be good to go.

So the brass piece was really gunked up, no issues with the spring shooting it up, couldn’t barely get it out and in my attempts to do so, I broke the tip of the white plastic piece that actuates the pressure switch 🥴. I can’t seem to find a replacement online, all the parts guides have everything but these. Do you have any recommendations where to get a replacement?

At about the 58 second mark, do you know the name for that brass piece with the white plastic that triggers the switch? Having tried every path but finding them unclogged, I removed that part and now need a replacement as re-installing it requires the strength of Hercules to suppress that spring and secure it with the pin. Doing so damaged that brass piece.

thanks great video. I took it apart, and SHOULD NOT HAVE, it was working fine. Broke the O-RING which is size. id=5/8. od=3/4. thickness=1/16. can buy 100 for $4 from amazon, but will try local hardware store 1 for $2. lesson learned leave alone what is working. trying to solve low pressure. it is a great pressure washer, will run forever when lubricated properly IF I CAN FIX low pressure. Will take pump apart next to see what I have. By low pressure, I mean maybe 400-600psi, and not 2,000 psi as expected. Any thoughts appreciated by viewers. ANYONE KNOW EFFECT OF O-RING being old cruddy and not working properly. If anyone knows, a reply would be great.

I know this is old, but THANK YOU! I ironed 2 blouses last night, but today iron doesn't work. I got stuck after removing the first 3 screws and your vid was the first response to my Google search. Hamilton Beach/Proctor-Silex I1309

I couldn't find anything out of place, except the red rubber round (gasket?) that fell out before I took the upper part off the plate. The iron didn't heat up, hence me tearing it apart. I cleaned around white cylinders that the dial had been connected to and put it back together and it works. But...to be safe, I will unplug it after each usage since I couldn't find where that red rubber button goes. (While sewing I press seams, then sew, then have to press more seams, etc.) I really cannot afford a new iron this month. Oh, and I broke the black plastic in the same place you did.

I have a electric pressure washer that keeps stopping and starting with the trigger not pressed what could it be. I checked everything that you mentioned but it still does it, goes on and off. What does the mechanism look like on the high pressure side where the water comes out I'm not sure if I have trouble in there. I can't find any diagrams of exploded view. Any help would be very appreciated.

Would this work with a hairdryer? What is the temperature of a heat gun? Sorry newbie here.
@DakotaBusy
@DakotaBusy Ай бұрын
You could try the hairdryer.. just keep the heat moving and you can always try moving the hairdryer closer if needed. Depending on the heat output it may work. If not, then you could buy a heat gun. Harbor freight sells them for cheap I believe.

Yes the hairdryer works, just takes a lot longer. I did it on an extensively heat damaged table that was very visible damage and now hardly noticeable.

This pump and switch is exactly like the Craftsman 1900psi washer. I wish I had seen this before I did all the things you said not to do. My spring and assembly went flying. 🤣🤬. Nothing really looked dirty, put back together, and it still cuts off and doesn't come back on. Also, you didn't mention, but there is another small o-ring that goes up in the switch housing on the white pin isn't there? Placed on top of the small hole washer before putting the switch on the valve.

Mine does the same thing. Works fine for 10 minutes then shuts off. Tried a new switch, still NG. If I shut off the water, remove the hose and water from the unit then reattach the hose, turn the hose on, press on switch, it works again. Then it will shut off again. Im not sure what the problem is. About to buy a new one.

I did everything you did no problem. But still no go.😢 is it possible the gap is too big? I did 2 shims just as you did The only difference is mine wont even hum. I put it on charger and when i take it off it lights up but nothing happenes at all when i push the button Darn. I was so sure it was gonna work. Good video in spite of my result.

You could try a smaller gap, but I’m pretty sure there must be some other issue happening with yours. I’d double check soldering points/wires as well.

DO NOT THROW IT AWAY UNTIL YOU CHECK THIS. If both green lights are on and it won’t turn on It’s very easy to check the brushes and armature on the motor . Clean them up with emery cloth. Make sure you orient brushes the exact way they came out to maintain the wear pattern. Mine fired up 😮

I tried this and it didn't work for me; the brass part was all rough and scarred some. I suspect it's causing a small pressure leak preventing it from being able to overcome the spring's tension. I can't find a replacement either so guess this thing is junk now :( I have a LOT of Ryobi tools. Some are great, others are not. Mostly their brushless battery power tools are good; not all but most. Their other stuff is hit or miss; for example the battery powered dremel is junk it has no power. But the small 80W inverter is good and the fan and lights are great. Guess their pressure washers are on the junk list, mainly cause there's no replacement parts for these valves and the pumps.
