How much would a kit like this cost on an average sized 3 bed house? Ball park figure of course rather than the how longs a piece of string figure 😂

Hi Rob. Is it possible to do a loft conversion (new dwelling) with a height of 2330mm from top of plasterboard to bottom of ridge?

This is the best process by far to build a loft conversion great job!

I asked for advice on creating a loft space and got ripped apart online. Apparently this is an illegal conversion and building control (UK) would just tell me to rip this down. Additionally I couldn't sell my house with this as buyers solicitors would read the surveyors report and they would advise them against buying.... can anyone advise if this is right? I had somebody come down and said fire regulations are there for a reason they built on real life tragedies where building regs are not followed.

You have made the same mistake as everyone else... By placing the rubber over the osb, your dewpoint is under the rubber mat. You have to put the rubber ontop of insulation and use non water based glue or your rubber will come off within 10 years

Guys i have a question, do you need to build loft space according to a regulation like loft conversion and do you need to have specific type of stairs? Or simple conversion of adding boards is fine?

What do you do about ventilation behind the insulation? as it hasn't got a breathable felt, does condensation not happen on the roofing felt?
@nicolakendrick87919 күн бұрын
Could this still be done or have building regs changed 🤔

Is there breathable felt behind the insulation? if not, what did you do about ventilating the gab behind the insulation to stop condensation?

@Allradicalliberalsneedtodie29 күн бұрын
Why you remove the brake line? It would've been less work to detach it from the strut and leave it in the caliper. Then just hang the caliper. Doing that you won't have to bleed the brakes.

Hi Rob glad to see you are doing great things!!Question for you.....got a 1950s house with about 5 foot of height clearance in my loft.....is there any way of creating a loft conversion?What is the likelihood of changing the roof height?Thank you
@JUKE179rАй бұрын
Mate, that looks amazing already! 🍻Quality construction and grand attention to detail that is! Interested to know if that is an aluminum frame or galvanized steel? Either way, way better than timber for the conversion. Cheers from Suffolk, East Anglia! 🇺🇸🇬🇧 I’ll have to contact you for our loft conversion. 😉

It’s aluminium like the studwork you can get.

Yes the chords and rafters are made from steel. Check out his shorts video called 'Steel kits now available' that shows the forming and assembly from sheets of steel.
