With all that you learned, and keep learning, the next project will be even better, and you will bounce back. Ultimately it's all about what you do. If I had the cash it would be yours. Hindsight: Get a battery disconnect isolator for the next one. Also think about fire detection and extinguishers. Have a look at some race cars for all that. Glad it didn't burn the house and garage and prob better you weren't there when it happened. In meantime the Rover is a great project and what a buy. Best of luck with the new Turbos.

Unfortunately, this was a known issue (at the dealer anyway) that GM never did a recall on, they did do some recalls on the H3 and blamed the HVAC relay for, but never knew what the issue really was. We had gotten some H2s in on trade with that fuse box having a burn spot/melted on C2 connecter under the fuse block at pins B7 ground and B8 being an unprotected battery voltage right beside each other and had melted together. I also saw some with melted VSES/ECAS (electronically controlled air suspension relay) with 60A fuse not blown. These are only what i've seen and my theories to what it could be causing this, i have no proof, but something was up as this was the same relay box used in all the 2500 and 3500 gas pickups and never really saw any issues like this with them. My only advice to anyone with a H2 and H3 would be put a battery disconnect on negative ground and disconnect it whenever not in use and have a fire extinguisher in the car, it sucks to have to say that but that's what i'd do if i owned one.

Gutted mate, was looking great. I'm a Ford guy so I'd go for a F250 or even a newer F150. The Ford trucks are definitely nicer then the ones we have. I love the Ranger wildtrack, can't afford one but love them lol. But the American ones are a little more advanced then what e have atm until the new Ranger comes out end of this year beginning of 2023, they are same as the American ones.

Gutted to see this Rob. But look on the bright side off the back of this you’ll move in another direction and have fun with another vehicle. Key thing is both you, your family and your house are ok - it could have been much worse if the fire had spread to the decking etc. So, next truck. I’d say go ford. Maybe a Raptor or something like that.
