Fyi, it was Helen Hunt's idea to make a twister sequel. In 2020-ish she brought a fully written screenplay to the studio with a continuation of her character...Studio greenlit it to begin with, but cancelled it and within 2 years theyve written a stand-alone sequel. Poor Helen 😢

I just got a physical copy of cyberpunk yesterday, and was absolutely siked and surprised to see that it came with a few goodies ( a map, stickers, post card etc.) i miss the old days where this was normal! I only buy physical games.

That's exactly why I only buy physical games for my switch. There is no sense in buying discs that just give me access to a license. They take up space, hold no real memory, and can get scratched, and then you lose your license that let's you access the digital game.

@@maxisenberg9093 this is a lie, on ps5 most games are on disks, notable execptions are live service games for obvious reasons, your cods fifas, helldivers and the like are not on the disk. Everything single player is 90% sure will be on the disk, playable offline

@Raiyekiu lol nope. hink you're confused We're not talking about needing online to play. Once the game is loaded you don't need online. Only a minority of discs contain the full game but even then they are not playable on the Disc themselves. They are instead copied to the console where it, not disc, runs and stores it. Discs can't keep up wirh modern specs..The only benefit to a disc eith the full game vs one that doesn't have it is that you do not need internet to make the copy (though it takes longer since there is more data being moved) Reality is discs are essentially just physical licenses for digital games

Physical games will always have a special place in my heart. I try my best to buy new releases on disc when possible. Nothing like getting a box with a few nice collectables in it. CDPR always did this so great - still have my witcher 3 ps4 day one edition that came with a map, full soundtrack on disc, mini artbook and world glossary. Thanks for the vid Jake!

Physical media will always have a place in my heart as well. But I no longer have space for these things. I’ve grabbed so many physical copies of games only to find it’s just a plastic disc. I hope physical media exists forever but again I have reached a point where I just have to walk away. I don’t need more “stuff” piling up and left dormant on a shelf. Looks cool I get it but it’s still just more stuff to maintain, or find space for which I have very little of as it is. Keep up the Wednesday check-ins Jake this is awesome!

I've been playing NMS since day 1, it's the reason I bought a PS4 back in 2016. I loved it back then, even though it was very bare bones and left a lot to be desired. Just jumped back into it this weekend after a 2 month hiatus and O M G! Worlds Pt1 (that's another thing this is only part 1) is so badass. You can definitely tell HG brought the tech they're using for developing LNF to NMS. I've never doubted or have had anything bad to say about Hello Games. What a great game that just keeps getting better. And Jake, I love the format of these Wednesday videos.

Twister is close to my heart. Me and my dad would watch it all the time on VHS as a kid. And even though it wasn’t a horror movie it scared the primal part of my brain. But I’ve been fascinated by tornados ever since. My 5th birthday was at the beach and there were these three huge water sprouts! I remember yelling TWISTERS!! 😂😂

One of the twisters trailers seemed to give a nod to the 2013 El Reno tornado, a storm I was chasing that almost ended up chasing us down. I’m excited to see this movie, glad the reviews have generally been solid.

Now if only rest of the game industry would also push more physical games/disc or cartage for switch users. As for for ps5 pro. Yeah kinda wanted one before ps5 was even out but I knew it was very unlike we’d see it even even was made. My concern of pro is it’s still using same old AMD zen 2, which base on ryzen 3700 non x version. With RDNA2. At the time when Ryzen 3xxx was out, it was decent cpu. Now not so much. Was really hoping Sony would go with zen 3 and RDNA3 gpu for pro. But like ps4 pro. It only got minor gpu bump and cpu was same. Looks like Sony doing same for ps5 pro. Just bumping gpu. While ignore cpu. It could mean many ps5 pro will be bottle necked/choked by slower cpu. I assume Sony is sticking zen 2 cpu for compatible reasons. Would make sense. Buy zen 3 shouldn’t effect ps5 game compatibly imo. Imo Sony/ps5 should have waited for zen 3/RDNA3 tech. But oh well.

The only thing that annoys me about a PS5 Pro is that it’s basically trying to deliver on what the original PS5 promised. “8K” and “120FPS” are literally plastered right on the box. I know a lot of it is what the developers can produce, but I can’t help but feel like there was some serious false advertising.

You should've known better in the first place tbh. Frame rate and resolution (especially one as high as that, it's absurd) is ALWAYS at the cost of visuals and performance. A developer will ALWAYS go for better visuals instead of 120fps and 8k which the majority of the population do not appreciate, especially on controller.

The PS3 was advertised with 1080p but many games don't even run at 720p on the system, these advertisements are just what the console is technically capable of (even if the PS5s software doesn't support 8k yet). If more devs wanted to make less complex games like the Touryst then we could have actual 8k support on PS5 since 8k isn't realistic for anything more demanding than a PS3 game. I don't get the framerate complaint though many competitive games have high refresh rate modes and some indie games like rollerdrome run at 4k120fps.

I made my son watch the OG with me last weekend and I forgot how each had a distinctive noise. One had a growl and one had a screeching metal on metal sound. And even my son at 9 said the cgi was amazing for such an old movie. That made me feel old.

Saw a news story about theaters showing movie, Twisters, called 4DX. Googled it, and at the theater you’re sprayed with water, strobe lights are used along with fog machines. They shake your seat so much popcorn will spill from its container. Do you have one of these theaters near you? I think the news story (NBC News?) said there are only 55 4DX theaters in the nation.

Definitely in the camp of I don’t *feel like a PS5 Pro is necessary - the generation has been an under stably slow rollout and so few games even stress the current hardware, but I’m pumped for it either way. I just hope we settle around 1440p and 4k resolution pushing vs jumping to 8k by the time the cycle is over.

Also important to note that the word "currently" was used in that quote from the Capcom shareholder meeting. This is not to invoke any kind of cynicism; it's just that it is always important to read things carefully. PS5 Pro will probably be revealed at Tokyo Game Show this year. First time Sony has had a presence at that invent in 4 or 5 years (?). Also, wouldn't discount the possibility of a PS5 Pro reveal during Sony's upcoming showcase. Furthermore, with all of the "What's up with Sony and their game releases?" rhetoric, one can assume that one of the reasons of this long interval between releases is that Sony's first party developers have been developing their upcoming games for the PS5 Pro as well.

The only difference I'm seeing in the preset settings between Trinity and the regular console is that the dynamic res scaler is set to .8 instead of .6 To I'm also seeing references to dlss and reflex and FSR that I don't understand why they have a presence in console settings

I really tried to get into No Man’s Sky, even had a friend guide me through the intro and give me materials I needed to progress. I just don’t like survival games I guess. I like the idea of them, but every time I try one I want what is basically the end game, and don’t find the journey to get there fun.

Kinda weird how Capcom says that they don't want to eliminate physical media yet somehow they are pushing it back. Take the Dead Rising Remake for example, the digital edition is coming in September 19, while the Physical Edition is coming sometime in November. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy that Capcom says they want to keep up physical media, but I don't know why they are doing this with Dead Rising.

I’m surprised people are surprised about the worlds update they been releasing similar upgrades since the launched with out slowing down. I don’t see any signs it’s slowing down. As new consoles come out and the game becomes more efficient they can really start reaching the dream they originally set out for.

I’m excited for the PS5 Pro if it allows me to not have to sacrifice 60fps for 4K fidelity. I simply can’t play in 30fps but it’s clear the 4K resolution also makes a difference. Being able to get the best of both worlds would win my purchase

I think i'd buy a new rig over a ps5 pro. I dont play my 5 enough for it to be worth my money. Iam also very happy with my steamdeck Capcom continuing physical copies is good, this way no licenses expire and delete your game, they are just good to go forever (pretty much) - this also is considering how many years ago I sold my wii to buy an xbox 360 and I lost out on all the digital games I had bought. I only got money for the physical games

I got a PS5 at about 450$ last year because I didn't want to spend too much money for a decent pc rig at home. I have been pretty happy with it, and I have been playing many ps4 games on a 2K monitor, 60fps, that look awesome, at least for me. I don't think most developers have used the full of capabilities of PS5 yet, which for me doesn't justify a Pro version of the console. It makes sense for previous gen users, but I will probably skip the Pro version, since until developers catch up, PS6 will come out.

Twisters: I saw this opening day Friday with my parents and it was such a great time! I grew up watching the 96 Twister on VHS with my parents, so it really came full circle. Sometimes you just want a simple, fun movie with popcorn in your face

To me PS5 Pro makes the most sense to finally play all PSVR2 games on full res. So far only Red Matter 2 runs on full res, to my knowledge and it looks so much better than most of the other games clarity wise.

GTA 6 will likely be the game that finally pushes people off PS4 onto the PS5. Those who were lucky to get a PS5 locked in during the first and second shipments in late 2020 will be looking to upgrade to the PS5 Pro. I expect to see a flood of used PS5’s going up for sale on eBay whenever the PS5 Pro hits store shelves.

I’m all for physical but if that means the disc is only a license to play the game and I still have to download the ENTIRE game then I’m going digital. Only reason I want physical is to save space on my console. The whole game should be on the disc. For all those that think they own a physical copy. No you don’t if it’s only a license and it’s an online game. These companies can revoke that license at any time they decide to stop supporting that game.

Since i currently don’t have a console, PS5 pro is already a day 1 for me. Also for GTA 6.

As it stands right now, I see no need for a PS5 pro. The only 2 things that might get me to budge are GTA6, and GT7 in VR. GT7 in VR is amazing but has poor draw distance and little visual concessions to get the smooth 90fps it needs. Will I run out and buy one, maybe eventually. Depends on this last half of the PS5’s life and the library it gets. I am a tech junky and love my stuff.

Atleast for video games I will always buy physical, especially if it’s for a game I know I’m going to like, I’ll download some but when I first rented god of war 2018 from Redbox (when they still did that) I loved it beat it and returned it then bought it so I can keep it
