Wild God is the 18th studio album by Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds and their first album in five years. It contains the singles Wild God, Frogs and Long Dark Night. Cave has made a clear statement that he and the band are “happy this time around”.

Still processing this album , it's enjoyable but far from one of my favorites. Might be time to find a new collaborator , love Warren Ellis's arrangements but miss the punchiness / bravado of the Mick Harvey yrs. Hopefully there will be another Grinderman LP soon.

Just discovered your channel! Wild God is definitely another morphing of Cave, though I can understand how a few may want a return to more straightforward gritty rock album of days past. This is a part of life....evolution. Still personally checking the pulse on this one for myself...having seen Cave five times with the Bad Seeds and once with Grinderman, he does continue to impress. I appreciate he has come back down to earth a bit and recognizes that he, too, is a mere mortal while still being capable of moving the human spirit with his ongoing efforts.

I like it a lot, but I do find some of the orchestral instrumentation a bit much in a slightly corny way that says "ok this where youre supposed to feel emotional". His last few albums were much more ethereal and felt "deeper" to me. That said, it's still an amazing album.

I think it's a good apotheosis of the past 10 years and the tour will be impressive - but I hope we'll get something new after this, a bit more Grinderman spirit would be nice. But it's a beautiful album, like Ghosteen but more energetic (although it's more church energy than rock energy :-) )

Sadly they didn’t play the vinyl itself. I honestly don’t know if this was even recorded analogue or digital. It was mastered at sterling, they are usually pretty good but I have to give the vinyl a good listen myself.

Great. Look forward to it. I found the album Push The Sky Away had a terrible sound on vinyl compared to the digital copy. I was informed the pressing of that vinyl was poor. I look forward to your thoughts on the new album.

Although I still call myself a Nick Cave fan, I have to say that "Ghosteen" and "Wild God" ar not my cups of tea. But off course Mr. Cave can bring out anything he wants and I can decide wether I buy it or not..

Was at a listenng party oarty too , bought the album . I like it but only half of it , im missing the bad seeds or the bad seeds vibe too much . I want more guitars, drums bass , less computer drums synths and weird sounds . This is absolutely no hate, but it feels too much like a nick cave and warren ellis record . Im not even expecting a rock or,, let love in in "kinda vibe . Im exited for the tour .

Nick Cave was my hero for more than 3o years, saw him live many, many times and I still like to listen to his interviews - but all of his new records since the death of his son(s) are the biggest disappointment ever. I even won't buy this one. Everything I already heard of it sounds terrible to me.
